Any team is beatable, that is why only Kalida has won the only D-4 girls championships in PC. It is a matter of luck, tournament draw, how many tournovers, how many layups and free throws missed and of course injuries. I wish the Big Green the best, but they will have to get by Crestview in the district finals, before we can really discuss this. Ottoville has been close a couple times.

If Ottoville beat Crestview (IF), they beat them by 4 pts at the beginning of the season. IF, they win they would probably play Patrick Henry, McComb, who they beat 60- 45, Arlington or Leipsic (beat 67-45), They they would have to beat Fayette, Edgerton or Pettisville. That is my input. Go Green

Ottoville is obviously talented and been close a lot lately, but to think no one can beat them is ridiculous. McComb took them to the end and McComb is a 3rd or 4th place team in the BVC so clearly it can happen.
It takes one team, one night - to shoot lights out, get breaks and Ottoville not have their best. That's why you play the games!

I can't even reply to this question!!!!!
Then why did you? lol
He just asked a question. Geeze
And Post, Ottoville had an awful game against McComb. Best team in the BVC (Arcadia) only beat PG by 5 who Ottoville beat by 16 so it doesn't say much. But I agree on the part that it takes one team to have a good night and them to have a bad night. Any team is beatable. Would like to see Ottoville finally win it all.

It's ok I knew what you meant. I think the only team I see in that regional is Crestview. Maybe Patrick Henry? But I am not so sure bout them. Then it gets real tough at state if they would even get there.

Yes it proves that the transitive property of mathematics doesn't work when dealing with basketball teams, played and coached by humans.

There are many factors and many upsets. Like I said, it is tough to win D-4, everything has to fall in place. Thanks for all your great comments, Go Green, Hi Slice......

Couldn't agree more there. In order to win state, let a lone make it down there, you just simply needs things to go your way. Despite that Arlington was a good team last year, they still needed things to go their way. Lately for Ottoville it hasn't. And with the injury to Kaufman doesn't help that out either.

Whether they win the title or not....that I'm not sure.
Ottoville and Crestview know everything about one another. This is actually a rivalry game dating back to the late 80s and early 90s. Kleman and Rickard have coached against one another forever.
If Crestview's Motycka and Bauer get going....and Crestview hits those 3's. Ottoville could be in trouble. With that said, Ottoville has many more weapons, and they are my pick to get to the Final Four.

Why do people take one game so seriously? It's irrelevant. Some teams just have off nights. Like I said any team is beatable you just have to have a bad night and the other team has a good night.

Seriously? Nah, but it shows that they were vulnerable on a (probable) off-night to a decent but not great team. That's certainly not a criticism, because as you pointed out anybody can have a bad night. There are teams, though, that are so good that they don't have close games even on bad nights.

True but even those teams that are so good have bad nights. These are high school kids we are talking about not college or pros. So to think that a high school team composed of teenagers that can appear to be so good, not to have a bad night is a little ludicrous in my mind.
