I disagree. 1st the allegation of the DSJ girl striking 2 girls in the face is easily proved and 100% true. There are 4 teams who have recorded these incidents. I was live at 1 of the games and have seen both tapes. 2nd I have not seen anyone state or show prior incidents of the LHS girl that was less then stellar. Because she plays a hard and physical game she deserved to be punched in the face. Now I understand.

So in your opinion it will take a player 3 times striking someone in the face to end their career?
I must have misread/misinterpreted some of the posts, 'cause I thought both girls had had some similar, questinable behaviors in the past....if not the case, my bad....

And if she has been called for &/or shown INTENTIONALLY inflicting harm via school video tapes, then yes, certainly she has no business on the court, or playing any other HS sport, IMO.....and the school should be held accountable, as well.... But, I will say, I know when my daughter was playing middle thru HS bball, I know more than just a few occasions where she went home with a busted lip or nose from regular play.......obviously no fists, though.

" Because she plays a hard and physical game she deserved to be punched in the face. Now I understand" ..... And no need to be ridiculous with me.

my sincere apologies Slice.

The allegations coming from Delphos of the LHS girl(victim) sound like the old neanderthal sayings "if a girl was wearing provocative clothing..............

A very sexist tone coming from over there.

It is all right for a boy to be aggresive and physical on the basketball court but if a girl does it she deserves............

My feelings on this are not coming from your post Slice but from what I have heard DSJ fans say about this incident and reading between the lines in these post.

Word on the street is that the OHSAA will be in Delphos Tuesday morning... Also the punishment handed down was given before the administration was enlightened of the New Knoxville incident...This is gonna get REAL interesting!!!!

certainly no apology needed.....as 'girly girl' as i am, i'm not that sensitive. ;)
i apparently misunderstood some of the posts as to which girl was being addressed in each... i will have to go back & reread to get a better undertsanding~~after the games tonight.

but, if the allegations are as you have stated, and FOUR schools have proof/documentation of this, we would be pretty much on the same page, for the most part.... If the school hasn't handled this offensive (even criminal, if two of these incidents were punches thrown, as stated) problem so far, then perhaps others are needed to be called in....and remember, this is IF this is all true of the DSJs' player's actions & the lack of DSJ suspending her from all athletic programs....
although, even if tapes are provided to oshaa, i'd be totally shocked if they stepped in....but who knows? :shrug2: guess we shall see.

Bottom line the OHSAA needs to take care of this. Flounder I know you are annoyed with this whole thing judging by your recent comments and being a supporter of DSJ but you can't overlook this. The girl in my mind needs to be suspended indefinitely maybe for the rest of the season. I'm not saying you don't think she should and I understand that the DSJ faithful just wants to get on with the season but this kind of stuff should not be tolerated. I would feel the same for any athlete of any school.

Kane/C-town.......

Personally, I have witnessed much worse during the heat of battle in basketball games.....she received a 2 game suspension...I mean what more do you want.....I am not agitated or annoyed, I just cannot figure out what you 2 expect as far as punishment....., and all of a sudden it is 4 games where this girl assaulted someone....you know, I could go out and review tape from many girls games, and would probably find more incidents than that....

Did you ever play sports guys....you may say you did, but I find it hard to believe......one of the worst things concerning playing sports is that you are competing and get so caught up in the moment that you as a player will do something that you regret.....I mean, it's human nature....I have been in that situation, and right now, there is no one who feels as bad as this individual.....does it make you feel better inside to keep pushing the issue....to this individual, the 2 game suspension is the easy part....the worst part is her feeling that she embarrassed her school, her parents, her team mates, her coach and anyone involved with DSJ.....I think she has suffered enough....it is a tough old world out there fellas, and this individual will see many things that pale compared to this incident.....I guess we should do as you state suspend her from all sports....after all, she is a very evil person....but also, if that isn't enough punishment, then maybe a 30 day jail sentence....would that make you all happy.......

Man, she was wrong....BZ and staff handled it properly....who knows what punishment fits the crime, but I feel it was appropriate.....if you want to continue the witch hunt then have at it!!!!!!!!!!

It's Friday night and I've read all the post and since my days of playing basketball there have been huge differences. Basketball for boys and girls is so much more aggressive and yes I do know refs don't see everything. I never heard anything about the Van Wert game and the DSJ girl but I do know there was no foul called against her at the New Knoxville game. When the films were watched from that game DSJ should have dealt with her then. She was called for the intentional foul against Lincolnview and if the LV girl wouldn't have gone crazy like she did she wouldn't be sitting out from a double T. The mole hill would not have grown into a mountain. Most of you would not even know this happened either. Yes the DSJ girl is sitting out as she should and I don't think Ottoville needs to worry about her trying to sucker punch them. My feelings on this is she will be watched very carefully and maybe too carefully that fouls will be called against her; she will be in foul trouble and sitting the bench.

I don't know what the OHSAA will do with this situation but from what I hear DSJ is disciplining her so if they (OHSAA) do, they do, and if they don't, they don't. Move on people, there are much bigger issues in life than this. I'm sure each and everyone of us has done something that we aren't proud of and wished we would not have done. The schools are handling this and it saddens me when I see and hear situations like this be it girls or boys.

So who without sin would like to throw the first stone? ....... That's right, Jesus turned around and they had all walked away. John chapter 8

Sorry but if this was just a one time incident I can understand the two game suspension but this happened more than once? Sorry in my book she should be done. I don't know how a coach could allow a player on her team to play because of this.

Flounder why so defensive? Is it because this involves your Jays? I'm beginning to think that. Sure it is ridiculous but so was the whole ottoville boys bball comments on the boys thread. You didn't seem to have a problem commenting there? lol it's all good I don't mean any hard feelings this whole thing got solved with DSJ girl although I still feel it wasn't enough.

Joker.....

Not really defensive, the situation has been resolved, and nothing is really going to change.....and now that you brought up the Ottoville boys, what's your problem there......did I defend them to much!!!!!!!!

I was at the game and yes the dsj girl initiated it and was completely in the wrong. There is no excuse for what she did however, the lincolnview girl went to the next level after the initial incident ! I'm pretty sure cussing and flipping the crowd off as she was headed to the locker room after being ejected...was that really necessary??? Yes both girls deserved to be ejected and I know that did not happen but I do know disciplinary action has been taken against the dsj girl and in Bz defense along with refs it happened so fast that they didn't see it happen ! But what really has me aggravated is that after the game a lincolnview fan decided he thought it was necessary to physically assault the athletic director because he was upset I saw that with my own eyes ! Sooo with that being said there are so many people that can be held accountable for what happened that night ! We all should take a good look in the mirror and make sure we're setting good examples for our children !!!!!

Grim I'm not saying you are wrong nor am I saying you are right. First time I heard that though. Which just begins to make me wonder what "actually" happened. I hear fans misinterpret what they "saw" and what they "heard" many times. Again seems like everyone has their own story about what happened.

Grim2013 is correct with the physical assult the DSJ athletic director took from the Lincolnview fan. This has affected many people, it's being taken care of and this thread needs to end.

In talking with a parent who was there and observed the whole thing, the DSJ player was the instigator and should have been identified as such by the game officials. Interesting to note that two of the officials John Derryfairy and Jim Orn didn't see a thing. That is what REALLY needs to be report\ed to everyone who has to put up with their incompetence.

As far as the DSJ player is concerned, this is far from her first rodeo.
