There is a game L-B should not have won Leipsic up by 10 with 5 and a half to go and never scored again L-B wins by 2. Now I'm not a coach by any means but your up by 10 there is no shot clock and the other team stays in a zone D and you don't just set on the ball and make the D foul you? Mangas was the best on the floor tonight.
Actually, I think Leipsic only scored once, early in the 4th. Leipsic finished the game the way LB played the first 3 quarters. LB missed easy shots and open 3 pointers for 3 quarters, Leipsic hit everything they shot. The 4th went the other way.

The best part of the night was the kid from Leipsic going through the line after the game telling each LB player AND coach that "this was bulls*it". Classy.

I was lucky enough (sarcasm) to have sat in the Leipsic section. Not having a horse in the race I typically sit on the home side. I will say that the Leipsic fans don't rank very high in Northwest Ohio for having the nicest fans. Even when Leipsic was up by 8 or 10 the fans were nothing short of nasty. Sitting right behind the bench may not have been the best choice either. Leipsic's coach made an ass of himself more than once. Which leads to another question, why do fans, and coaches in this case, feel that their kids never committ a foul or make a mistake? The Leipsic coach cried and complained about every call that went against him.

Of course it is pretty hard to out-class Steve Williman. I only wish my kids could have played for him, he is a class act.

I am in total agreement that Coach Williman is a class act....But I took notice of your comment that Leipsic's coach "cried and complained about every call that went against him"...Made me wonder what you think of LB jayvee coach's antics during jayvee games?

I was not there in time to see the JV game. Not sure about him. If his antics are anywhere near that of the Leipsic coach, then shame on him! Although I will say that I don't put much stock in JV coaches, they are typically wanne be coaches with little experience that only know how to whine when things go against them.

Now, I have seen Coach Williman argue a call with a ref, but it is typically a call that was blatantly bad. He does not whine about every single call. That being said, I will say that some of the LB players complained to the ref's last night, which is NOT a trait you typically see from a Williman player. Not sure if this is a new thing this year, or just a one game thing, but not something you have seen in the past. I can remember a number of years ago when a LB player argued with a ref early in the game and Williman benched him for a good portion of the game.

Stewy.....please name me more than a handful of varsity coaches worth anything who weren't a JV coach at some point?

I also was sitting behind the team and am not sure what Coach Maag did to make an ass of himself. Every coach will question calls that they disagree on. Williman did it himself last night. Do you mean that LB can do it but if anyone else does it they are an ass? Do agree with the jv coach comment, have seen his actions in the past

I also sat behind the team and I didn't see anything that made Coach Maag look like an ass. There are a lot of reasons to talk to a ref after a call. Yes, to argue a call, to let your players know not to argue I got this, and to find out exactly what the kid did that they didnt like. Sometimes they re not saying he didn't foul, they just want the same call on the other end. Most coaches argue with the refs. Coach Maag did not argue every call and did not look like an ass. If you think you saw that, you spent way too much time staring at the coaches instead of watching a great ball game!

Stew is an LB fan for sure, trying to stir the pot. Williman isn't the saint Stew is making him out to be. Sounds like LB got needed help from Leipsic in the 4th to get this win

L-B's JV coach is no Steve Williman he definitely go's way to far sometimes IMHO. By the way all you people that were setting right behind the bench did you share a bag of popcorn during the game ?

This is a perfect year to say this about Williman. If he wasn't LB's coach they would be a middle of the road team at best. That is what separates him from 95% of the rest.

Oh brother...here we go again.

Posty, I am sure I'm missing something (or I am really stupid) but I've always assumed dw629 was a Leipsic poster (not LB). If you don't mind me asking.......what exception did you have with his post?

Man, there must be a lot of room behind this bench :shrug2:
and usually getting there at the end of the JV game at a Leipsic/LB game won't get you a primo seat behind the bench

Ahhhh. You are 50% correct. LB needed major help from Leipsic to pull out the win. Leipsic had several opportunities to put it away and could not convert. From easy layups to missed free throws. However, you are wrong, I am not an LB fan. I would not be embarrassed to be one though, I like the program.

Unfortunately, I root for a program that has no basketball tradition, nor have they fielded a team that has competed for a number of years. That is why I like to attend games that are projected to be good games.

For the record, I did find a seat in the section behind the bench. I sat beneath one of the side baskets and everytime I tried to stand up I hit my head on the backboard. I couldn't believe that there were people that actuall sat behind that thing.

What's even more amusing is fans who go to games and pay attention to how the coache's act on the sidelines?? Who cares? They are coaching their team, some are calm, some are screamers.
I was shocked by this outcome. LB is loaded this year and Leipsic found something that worked against them, very few teams have. However, Leipsic's achilles heel is playing down the stretch. Playing running/ trapping and gunning ball is good for 3+ quarters, but at some point you have to run some clock, hit free throws and be disciplined to finish games. I'd be interested to know what Leipsic's record has been over the years in games of 3 points or less, win or lose.

I am sure Leipsic's record isn't as near as good as LBs. They have the coach, usually get the calls and are the "Class of the BVC". Just ask their fans. They aren't the "saints" people think they are.
