You are 100 pct. right. It's ok to show a little home court love, but they need to announce the full names of both teams, and give these teenages the recognition they deserve. I wasn't there, but I've experienced that screaming Elida yahoo. I'ts pretty irritating. The guy who does Bath games, (Tony Hammer) does a good job. He shows the home team a little love, but not enough to offend the visitors

Badlands you are right. That is totally disrespecful to the away team. I mean Leipsic could have showed some class like Grove did and auction off the Grove banner or something.

The home team's announcer can do what they want. Why is this a big deal to you? So what if they say it a different tone, so what if they only say part of their name. Are we really arguing about this badlands? Get a hold of yourself. It's just a game, unless the announcer was saying negative things after the visiting team scored or whatever, then maybe it is disrespectful. But I just fail to see how any of this you described is.

PA announcers (some of them) need to check themselves a little.....seriously. Nothing wrong with some enthusiasm, but quit trying to be the show. People come to see the kids. I've seen a few officials who could take this advice also!

You and alot of people are reading to much in this...LOOK at everything I posted....Why is so hard for you people to acknowledge by just saying a vistors last first and last name is so hard.....At a level of sound where you can hear...Scream at the top of your lungs when the home team scores...but you better give a ounce of respect to the vistiors when they score....thats all im saying..Its high school....

Why would they do that, Leipsic (Grove) does not recurit or abuse the voucher program...How stupid are you?

I am looking at what you post. I just fail to see why this is such a big deal to you? It's a home game for Leipsic. If they don't want to say the last names of the visiting team after a made basket, then fine who cares? The town I am from, they don't even say anything for a made basket. If this was tournament on a neutral court, I could understand you being upset, but really it's not disrespectful at all. Maybe you are even exaggerrating with this too. Perhaps they said the name loud enough for people to here? I don't know, I wasn't there. But all I know is you are completing taking this way too serious.

If it will make you feel any better, I totally agree with you.....how hard can it be for a announcer to show the visiting team a little respect....I mean, isn't that what sports are all about.....respect and sportsmanship......I think we all know that most announcers will show some bias during the game, but at least show the other team respect......that is all we want!!!!!!!

So let me get this straight. You and your school don't agree with LCC's ways so it is ok for you to show disrespect to the school and the student athletes playing by not hanging a banner and then selling it. However, Leipsic doesn't say the first name of your players when a shot is made and they are out of line. So disrepect to students is alright with you as long as those students arn't from the great community of grove. Yes and we are the idiots not you.

I have been going to HS basketball games for 30+ years and have really only witnessed a handful of bad announcers. I like to hear an announcer that gives all players the credit they deseve. Now i also think the home team should have a slight egde when it comes to the introductions. I am going to agree with hunt4em...as he said the McComb announcer is terrible. He is horrible. A freakin grown man trying to be a hip and cool dude. I skip the McComb game every other year because I cant stand to listen to him. Respect and Sportsmanship are a few things he needs to learn.
