Someone mentioned earlier that the kids whose parents went to LSH have no loyalty to the school and are effectively not "LCC players." I'd like to ask that person where he would send his kids if given the choice? LCC or LSH? I would guess that your answer would be LCC. What is so wrong with these parents making the same decision and choosing a better school system for their kids?.. Just because they didn't have the opportunity means that they should deny their kids that opportunity?

A no brainer in my opinion!!!!!

I just can't believe a coach would say this about a team that he was responsible for..And why would anyone "feel sorry" for a coach that has all this talent?? Learn how to deal with it..I feel sorry for the coaches at Allen east,Bluffton etc.etc.who have to work with way less talent..

He just said that a key hurdle for his team was to be able to play team basketball. He didn't complain about it or say they wouldn't be able to do it.

I agree that, given the talent on the team, if they can play as a team, they can be really, really good.

I don't think Kill is asking anyone to feel sorry for him or his team. My guess is that he drives home the point of playing as a team every day in practice, and he knows that his players are going to be reading that article and wanted to keep driving the point home.

poker......

I watched LCC a few times last season and the problem really wasn't that hard to figure out....they had quickness and some very good players.....but there were times when some players just took off a play or two.....talent will win a lot of games.....a team with great chemistry will win more!!!!!

Records don't always tell the whole story about a team. Apparently, Kill thought that the team didn't reach its full potential last year and one thing that held them back was their inability to play as a team. Hopefully that gets fixed this year.

That would certainly shake up the apple tree now wouldn't it?........the folks at LCC say that the freshman is better than any of them....
this will only hasten his entry.........if he is able to start taking over games at times, how will those players that have been there the last 2-3
years handle it?..........that will be Coach Kill's biggest problem and maybe this is what he was alluding to in the Lima News article earlier this week.....
he might have already been privy to this information..........I have LCC rated in my top 5 in D3 in the Rocketman's rankings.........that won't change
even with Hodges' dismissal........RM

If Hodges is gone, there is still plenty of talent at LCC to have a great season......biggest problem is getting all that talent on the same page and playing unselfish team ball........a monumental task to say the least!!!!

Yes they will still have a very good team. Punishment seems a little harsh to me. Wonder if he is headed cross town to spartan territory

Hodges was one of the students you have been reading about in the paper. He threaten to kill a teacher and the word gun was used in the text. He was given a choice to withdraw or be expelled. He enrolled or was going to enroll at Perry.

Wow, that's sad. I'm sure his dad is not pleased, especially since he graduated from LCC with a successful HS basketball career back in the 80's. If he does go to Perry, at least he won't experience the shame of playing against LCC during the season.

He's a good player, but it sounds as if he made some really stupid choices. LCC will certainly miss his skills, but I think if all of this is true, the school did the right thing.

I seriously doubt that last year seniors were the problem. You are talking about high class individuals like Billy Taflinger, and John Kidd who are leaders from what I have seen in every sense of the word. The problem as far as taking plays off by certain individuals mentioned earlier was the main reason that LCC lost to O-G last season in Bowling Green. Also those individuals are back again with the exception of Bruce Hodges who was expelled from the school. A lot of talent is on this year team, can they play together that is the question. If Bob Seggerson was still the head coach, I would say that this team would make it to Columbus next March. With Frank Kill????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

Don't just assume that because someone went to LCS at some point that they are on vouchers.

I'm certain that Martyce Kimbrough and Corey Stewart are not on vouchers. I don't know whether or not Darius West or Xavier Simpson are.

Stewart may have played one season in the LCS basketball system, I'm not sure. He spent the majority of his years at St. Gerard and then went to St. Charles in junior high. I'm not sure when Martyce Kimbrough switched to the Lima Catholic School system. I know that his family (older cousins Aaron and Anthony) went to St. Charles from preschool - 8th grade and graduated from LCC. If you talk to Xavier's dad, Quincy, he'll be the first to tell you that basketball was the last thing on his list when he decided to move Xavier to St. Charles. I don't know much about Darius West's background, but I certainly don't pretend to know or assume anything about him.

Someone mentioned earlier that the kids whose parents went to LSH have no loyalty to the school and are effectively not "LCC players." The better question is if Lima Senior was #1 in the state like they were with Walton, do you think they would have still sent their kids to LCC? :whistling:

If he did enroll at perry, he would have to sit out this year?

no, I believe he would be eligible to play right away............that is if Perry administration and coach would allow him to participate.........why not LSH though?
