Quick note, as I said in my other note. Congrats to LB, showing everyone last year was not a fluke and for the 2nd straight year you are the better team.

Instead of most (not all) of everyone saying what Cooper and his staff did wrong, more, much more credit needs to be give to Nichols and his staff on what they did right. Good job coaches!

I think most in the NWC recognize that Fell is the best coach in the conference. Cooper just has the easiest way to get Ws based on where he goes and what he has to work with.
Are you serious? What is Cooper's record vs Fell and do you have any idea what the scores of those games have been

Nice 1st post. I hope you didn't join just to defend good old Coop. If so good luck. You will need it.

Again Cooper panics when down (this time only by 3), starts passing when the running game has been working. LCC had some nice blocking on the traps at 1st, LB started to shut that down and then the outside opened up. Some real nice blocking on the outside as well. Why in the world is Cooper considered a good coach again? I just forget why (seriously).

Good solid coaching by LB and players executed well.

Good luck against PH next week.
Have somewhat of a clue before you start being critical of coaches. Final stats LCC 7-13 Passing 6-1st half passes 7-2nd half passes. I do no see the panic you refer to.

Next question: Why people consider Cooper a good coach? His past 15 year record of 156-32 at 3 different schools speaks for itself. Even you can figure out that 10 wins a season over a fifeteen year stretch can't all be just great players.

It's not his record that people disdain... Some believe he is an opportunist and somewhat classless. He is what he is... WG, Hicksville, Bath, Grove, and LCC are his stops. Not many from Bath or Grove defend him or want him back - that I know of. Love him or hate him, he has won.

Do you have any idea what Fell has to work with in terms of talent at a smaller D6 school compared to what Cooper has to deal with at a bigger D5 school...in a more populated area mind you.

Next time, thinking is strongly recommended before you post.

And you don't think a another coach with the players and resources he has year after year couldn't do better?

Some other coaches could. Some could not. Downing, Strock, and Etzkorn all had the same level of talent and strung together 15-20 years worth of 2-4 win seasons.

As someone who was in the program during the transition from Etzkorn to Cooper, the differences just in terms of organization and planning were night and day.

You act like Ada is some tiny school. Wait until next year when Ada and LCC are both in Division VI of the seven classes. OHSAA official enrollment numbers Ada 114 Boys, LCC 132 Boys. I think these stats demonstrate that your idea that Ada is a way smaller school idea is flawed. Facts are Facts Cooper's record vs Ada 11-2 vs Fell 5-2. Now what other excuses do you have.

Please exclude Coopers record while at Columbus Grove with your greatest coach of all time arguments. With Blaine Maag in your backfield just about anyone coach could when 10 games a year.

Col Grove Football: Under Fell 1 Total Playoff win in 11 years . Under Cooper 13 Playoff wins in 5 years , Under Palte 2 Playoff wins in 7 years. I think you might ask those Grove football die hards to reconsider your idea that they do not want him back.

No Grove didn't need Coop. We needed the Maag's and Stechschulte's to have bigger family's.

I'm sure Cooper is a better coach than Etzkorn due to a lot of the disdain I heard for Etzkorn from players that played under him. With that being said, Cooper is overrated in terms of how good they make him out to be.

Ada is smaller though and even if you are not a believer in "recruiting" at LCC, LCC has a talent pool the size of Lima(and abroad)...Ada does not. You don't see Ada's track team or basketball teams doing much of significance because they simply don't have those athletes there.

Not to sell those teams short, but it wasn't about just Maag in those years or even when his older brother was there. They had numerous great players for them and they were all great athletes in other sports as well.

Once again, Grove had much more talent while Cooper was there than they had before or after he left. Even Grove fans knew this after their state title. I think the only relevant player they had on the team the following year was that Keck kid who was dinged up with concussions and couldn't play I believe. Unfortunately, Coop knew this as well and split before he could accrue the L's. Before Coop arrived, the bigger and more dominant schools were Bluffton and Jefferson...once again...they had more talent at both those schools at that time. What you do notice is Dennis Lee has coached at Bluffton throughout that entire period and even when they were winning the NWC with nice teams.....do you suddenly think he became a bad coach when Bluffton had losing records?...no....they just don't have that talent year in, year out.

Agree  One thing to point out. It is easy to bash a coach for not getting it done from here on the corner, it is another to make the calls on the field in the heat of the moment, and the players still need to make the play.

I wasn't a marty shot fan for Cleveland "he couldn't win the big one either" Haven't had a winning coach since. So becareful what you wish for. At least Cleveland was winning games. Point is you could have worse.
