More wealthy?
Columbus - The median income for a household in the city was $37,897, and the median income for a family was $47,391.
New Bremen - The median income for a household in the village was $51,643, and the median income for a family was $61,011.

There's one fact where you're wrong. You and your facts. Seriously flawed. You just like to sound smart and you do a terrible job at that.

As I just said, you can not pull outliers into the equation. If I equate Linden into the equation based on their heavily African American and unemployed status and the 250-300,000 collegiate students working part time in Columbus, it heavily drops the mean down. How many collegiate students are in New Bremen? Likewise, I could very easily stratify the rest of Franklin County(which decisively voted for Obama mind you) and sample from the likes of Dublin(126K median income), Upper Arlington(110K), and New Albany(119K) if you want to compare a "wealthy" rural town vs. a wealthy city metro area.

Now let's look at the map. Notice a trend to where most(not all) of the wealthiest and highest educated individuals live?

Delaware County educated?
Do the outliers not vote for Obama in Franklin Co? Or are they the ones voting for him?

I'd rather shower at Penn State than root for Michigan.

Also notice the map - Notice a trend to where most (not all) of the nations poorest and least educated individuals live?

Goes both ways, you can't exclude the outliers if they have a vote, you know?

I worked in Franklinton and downtown Columbus with the homeless. They were poor and uneducated. You think they voted for Bush or Kerry in 2004?

I would say Delaware county, while mostly rural, is higher educated than most of the other Ohio rural areas. It shows in the graphics too. Auglaize County voted 77% for Romney, while Delaware County only voted 61% for him.

The highest educated people in Ohio live in NE Ohio? Have you been to NE Ohio? That area is the poster child for abuse of welfare and entitlements, as well as political corruption. This is the place where being embroiled in a government corruption scandal gets you reelected, so long as you have a D by your name on the ballot! They name buildings after you to honor your corruption!

If you don't believe it, look it up on your "ObamaPhone."

Nope, I doubt it, but once again, all of Franklin County wins the election and wins it decisively. The low income african americans contribute to that but they are vast minority considering Franklin County is 21% black, yet 60% voted for Obama.

By the way, Franklinton is going to be the next up and coming area in Columbus. 10 years from now, it will be a very different place from where it is now. They already have development going on over there. ;)

Are you speaking of the low income blacks?......because I really have no idea what you are talking about. Are you going to claim the same thing for Athens County....or how about all those "poor" and "corrupt" people in Lorain and Summit county that also decisively voted for Obama?

So take out that 21% and what's the results of the vote? For real, I don't know. Not a loaded question.

And yeah, I worked right across the river from Miranova Condos shortly after they finished it and had a strong feeling that they didn't want to look across the river and see the slums of Franklinton. I'm sure they saw the dollar signs in it. There were times I'd head up to the roof of our high rise and look across the river and think "These guys here are staying here for free, and those guys paid millions to stay over there". We knew it wouldn't be long before the urban renewal would make its way over to Franklinton. Thank God. Scary place.

NE Ohio in general! Poor and corrupt pretty much personifies the hole that it is. Akron's mayor has been in office for like 20+ years despite numerous alcohol related altercations with police. He's been known to actually PHONE IN fights breaking out at bars because he is there and trashed. But he keeps getting voted in. His only opposition in elections is from his own party because he is an embarrassment to them, but the poor, corrupt idiots in Akron keep voting for him.

Been fun jeffcat. Until next time...

Heading to our hunting cabin this weekend so I'll end with this thought -
‎"The production of private wealth is a crucial aspect of the singular success of the American experiment. Private capital is the most important capital in the world, and without it on a grand scale, it would be impossible to imagine America. The competitive spirit allows people to become rich to do things useful to the public at large. If that spirit were to become constrained by political or cultural mechanisms, America would rather quickly come to resemble its European cousins." Gregory Curtis - a financial advisor to the super wealthy.

If Avon Lake is poor and corrupt, I don't want to be rich and uncorrupt.

Not every African American votes for Obama...sure the majority do, but not all of them. Likewise, based on the stats from the whites in the Franklin metro area, they also voted Obama in every single suburb.

Franklinton is still rather rough as it is and that's a large area to cover. The Downtown is pretty limited on expansion as it stands now, so after the bridge projects are completed with the Scioto Mile, the development is slowly going to begin on the other side of the river...big times for Columbus. You should see how Weinland Park real estate value has changed in just the past 10 years. People are paying over a million bucks for a busted house lot to tear down and build up on now where as 10 years ago it was just a $40,000 house. The new Kroger and the Gateway project helps a lot with that. Grandview Heights and booming in development. Things are moving along at a crazy pace everywhere here.

Ironically, I'll be one of those European cousins once I move to Europe. :D

You mean the city of Avon Lake? The city that voted for Romney/Ryan over Obama?

Amazing how you point to wealth and success and they're a city voting Republican...

Lorain County houses Avon Lake, Avon, and other well off "suburbs" of Cleveland. 56% of Lorain County voted for Obama. 100% of you is destroyed.
