The first-my father-in-law died a couple years ago. My wifes dad was a good man-WWII vet, farmer that worked hard to support his big family. (They had 12 kids) His kids all oved him and he loved his kids. A day after his funeral-I went in our bedroom and sat in the recliner and was reading a book and fell asleep. My wife came to bed and didn't wake me up. It was probably close to 1 am, I woke up. Standing next to the bed by my wife was her dad. Clear as could be. Looked just like him. Looked like he was reassuring her that things would be ok. Kind of eerie-but not really scary at all.
This one has me freaked out. My wife went to bed-I stayed up later watching a baseball game. When I went to bed-she had the heat turned up and it was way too hot for me to comfortable. So I went into the spare bedroom and slept in there. I got up to visit the bathroom-and somebody was standing right in front of me. Scared the crap out of me and I fell back on the bed-rubbing my eyes and trying to get focused to see who it was. Seemed like it was a female. No idea who it could have been…….havent been in the room since. LOL
Anybody else have any stories or am I totally insane?

So they're definitely here in this house. Still doesn't bother me. I figure if after living here 2 months, they aren't causing any major problems, then they're fine with us being here. I have no problem sharing a house, as long as things don't out of hand.

I was staying in a friends apartment one time, he always said it was haunted. I was on the couch and heard something in the kitchen, I turned around and said what are you eating, nobody was there but the cupboard door was open and a plate dropped to the counter...that was creepy for me, cause I had never been there before.
I totally believe in ghost.

not saying i don't believe, just that i have never had any encounters, but, i guess i do believe that just about anything is possible, so i don't dismiss the thought.....

I have a feeling this has happened to a lot of parents over the years.

Also, we talked to the landlord and they said they had a small dog that was hit by a car a few years ago(they lived here before finding a bigger house). That would likely explain why it feels like there's a dog sleeping in the bed even when ours is in the living room.

To answer the question...no ghosts are not real...it's not a matter of belief...it's a fact of the matter.

You like facts. I'd like to see your proof. Where are these "facts" you speak of. I'll wait.

What are your facts that a pink unicorn didn't just fly through my backyard and shoot down a UFO with it's starburst power? I'll wait for your proof.
The onus of proof is on the ones that make the claims of existence. Show me LEGITIMATE proof of a ghost hurting, killing, or even showing itself somewhere and I'll believe you instantly. Have fun in imaginationland.

Sorry, I just think if someone would claim that something is a fact that they would have some proof that it is. Is that really too much to ask?
Also, where did I claim ghosts are real? I would never claim that as I really don't know. And neither does anyone else. Including you.

If you live by this logic(or lack there of), nothing is a fact, nothing can be proven, and nothing can not exist. Think about that for a while.
A valid argument is only possible by the ideology that you have valid premises. If your premise is totally unfalsifiable...meaning there is absolutely no way possible to prove that it is false, then you can not even construct an argument since your premise is flawed to begin with.
Example being a bird flying. If somebody tells you a bird flies, you can use logic and reasoning from a large sample construct(AKA common sense) to know that you 1: Are looking at a bird and 2: Are witnessing it's flight, therefore the bird can fly is a valid argument with 2 valid premises as you know what flight and a bird are.
Now if you said the bird transformed in to a beaver because YOU saw it and nobody else did, so it must be true, then you have a 100% unfalsifiable premise as there is no evidence to support your theory(which it isn't even a theory at that point). Nobody can show you evidence that a bird can not transform in to a beaver as there is no evidence to support it, therefore it's unfalsifiable and an invalid and flawed "argument" from the beginning. So the question remains...do you have a valid premise to support the argument that ghosts exist?....or are you just watching too many halloween movies?

I do get your point that there is no proof that ghosts exist. And how for someone to lay a staunch claim that they absolutely do exist would need to show proof. But no one has done that. At least not on here.
