I'm pretty sure the top eight vote getters in the district are automatically all-state. Where they go from there is then voted on by somebody else.

Rammestein, give it up about this feister kid already. He wasn't even a starter for you. And I highly doubt you even saw the kleman kid play at all this year since CR doesn't play them. He's a very talented player, probably the most complete player on the Kalida team this year. He was elected captain this year and was the Co-PCL Player of the Year. He had 5 goals and 3 assists as a midfielder. And did I forget to mention that he's only a sophomore.

And yes the top 8 players in the district were taken down to the state voting. So the first 8 people on the list I gave you earlier should be all-state. Which team depends on how the voting goes at the state meeting.

*****doesnt deserve an award though. defintely not PCL player of the year. I cant believe that ***** got all-state, but congrats to him. what was his numbers? And ****doesnt deserve all state. I would think that if you were an all state goalie that would be able to stop one PK in a tournament game. Well, he didnt do that against jennings. With brandon he defintely deserves some recognition. He had a hell of season.

Wow what an assesment, good thing they left it up to the coaches, the ones that know and scout the players and not the fans in the stands. I myself thought they did a great job on choosing all the RIGHT players. Also if want to see there stats they should be on soccerstats.com

I think that it is funny that no team has more than 1 on first team. I can think of atleast 2 teams that should have had 2 players on 1st team. Why is this?

I agree there are teams that have 2 very good players on that team and they both may be deserving of a first team spot, but this is what goes on at the voting from what I understand. Coaches correct me if I'm wrong.

First you have to remember that the NW Ohio div 3 district has well over 20 teams in it. And all of those teams coaches are able to put only the players on their team earning 1st or 2nd team in their respective leagues up for districts up to 4 players max i think. That means that on an average each coach puts up 2 players for 1st team and the rest for 2nd team. Now you have 40 or more kids names up on a board and each coach is given a certain amount of time to talk about each one of his/her players, usually 1 minute. They also have to have a form with all the players info on it to pass out to all the other coaches. Now after all the coaches have finished talking up their players up each coach is given a bollot and they vote for their top 11 players. They are allowed to vote for their own players I believe and their votes are read aloud. After all the coaches have turned in their ballots the results are recorded and the numbers are tallied the player receiving the most points is player of the year and then it goes down the line until the top 11 spots have been filled.
After the 1st team has been decided now its on to 2nd team. Those who received points for 1st team, but didn't make 1st team have their points carry over for the next round of voting. Now coaches can talk about their players again for a shorter time than before and then another round of voting occurs and the votes and points are tallied then the next top 11 spots are filled.
After 1st and 2nd team have been made coaches can put their remaining players that didn't make 1st and 2nd team as Honorable Mention. So basically every team in the district that has a player make 1st or 2nd team in their respective league can at the worst be Honorable mention.

So as you can see alot of what players get rests on the shoulders of their coach. Its their job to do the best they can at talking up their players so that the coaches in the room that haven't even seen your player will give them a vote. So as you can assume their is alot of politics involved in this process and coaches from the same leagues seem to vote for other players in the league over better players from other leagues and some coaches vote their players on the top of their ballot even if they're not good players just to get them points. And its very hard to get underclassmen on the team because some coaches believe these awards should go to seniors only and will only vote for seniors no matter what.

This is why its very hard to get 2 players from the same school on first team. If you get a player on 1st team and another on 2nd thats pretty good. And its great if you are able to get 2 players on 1st team. I hope this answered a few questions out there.

Ottoville has a Miller on the list and so does Continental. I know Ottawa Hills has some 1 or 2 players that should have been on this list.
