Of which, it has been surprising to nobody considering what he had to work with at each respective school.

It's hard to get to the top. It's even harder to stay there. Cooper has gotten LCC to the top in terms of NWC teams and one of the top division 5 teams in the state and has stayed there for 8 years. That's impressive. Also, I think we the attitude that today's kids have, along with egos formed from winning a lot, etc you are underestimating how hard it is to keep a program like LCC competitive each and every year. As soon as Cooper leaves LCC it collapses back to how it was prior to 2005.

Doubt it LCC dominates the NWC in every sport if he leaves they will be just as good as they have been. He isn't that great anyway they have made one long run in the playoffs. (2010). Last year they were number 1 in the state and lost first round.

What do you consider "long run"?

2005- region 20 runner up (loss to state runner up CHCA)
2006- region 20 runner up (loss to State Champion St. Henry)
2007- second round (loss to State Semi finalist PH)
2008- missed playoffs
2009- second round (loss to Regional runner up Tinora)
2010- state semi finalist (loss to state champion Ursuline)
2011- first round (loss to LB)

6 of 7 years in the playoffs and 3 of those 6 playing for or winning a regional title. Way better than many schools. Hell, most schools would kill for those results. Guess not in Ada.

As stated before, he greatly improved the football program his first year on the job, with the same players as Etzcorn who couldn't coach a winning season...with some very athletic teams. It all comes down to coaching, and i would say he's done a pretty damn good job at it.

Geoff Bowers came to LCC Coop's first year didn't he? I always heard this is when the "recruiting" stuff came about....from what I've always heard.

Adam Good came from Bath his first year. Became a real nice back for their great year in 05. He came to LCC after some trouble at Bath. Bowers came after leaving Elida freshman year and Grove after two years.

Not a chance!
Well, maybe if Ada left the NWC and beefed up their schedule, they would make it out of their region :)

Ada's success runs through decker. I think LCC slows him down tonight and cruises to another conference title 41-14.

...so you knock LCC for winning their region once in recent memory (2010) when Ada has only come out of their region once (2007)??? Okay

They beat Ada 56-14. I know that. And Ada was better last year.

LCC 48
Ada 20

The point is, Sam Huffman, while not the best "prospect" for LCC, is probably the MVP of the team for LCC.

I haven't been on here in a while, but boy am I glad I did. This post right here just about made me reck my car, lol.

Before the season, this same poster blasted me for saying that Huffman was the best high school player on the team and that the coaches would all say he's the most valuable.

Now, he's arguing the exact opposite to prove his current point. Why anyone would put any stock into what this guy says is beyond me, though I'm sure few do. He's like a politician; well-spoken, long-winded, and lacking substance.

With this info, even ole jeffy now has to agree that, looking back, my pre-season analysis of LCC was spot on (unless he's like to flip flop again).

Tonight, LCC will win by 14-28 points. This is just a terrible match-up for Ada. They won't have any type of deep passing game tonight with LCC's secondary (easiest prediction of the night), so they'll be forced to run and throw laterally. Running will yeild some success, but throwing and running laterally won't. So they'll score some points, but they'll have their share of punts too (or maybe Fell will try another fake early in his own territory, lol).

Where they will struggle is defensively. When Ada was legitimately good, they had a set of linebackers that were standouts. They're not there anymore and haven't been replaced, IMO. With LCC's skill players, Ada will just have the same struggle matching up that they had last year. LCC lost O'Connor, but they replaced him with, IMO, a very good high school QB and they returned very good players everywhere ether.

And as for the importance of college prospects, like I said before the season, being a stud prospect doesn't guarantee team success. With that being said, it does say something about the skill level-athleticism combination that the athlete has (see West guarding Baker in basketball last year for proof, lol). Washington (who even Fell called the best RB around, btw), West, Rogers, Pitts, Huffman, Stewart, B.C. Stolly, and Lasenby are all better pound-for-pound raw athletes than anybody on Ada's roster, IMO, and they can all play as a result, will all get better scholarship offers as well.

When the talent level at the top is that different between teams, it usually results in scores like 59-14. Does that mean Ada can't win? Absolutely not. LCC is vulnerable against teams willing to control the clock, keep the ball between the tackles, and not give up the home run. Combine that with LCC's general discipline/penalty issues, and they most certainly could lost tonight...

But it ain't gonna happen. LCC 49-21.
