A Columbia win this week does not get them a spot in the playoffs. They need to win next week against Clearview to secure a spot.

Touche. It looks like we have plenty of 2nd level games to follow as well, although in DJ's case, I just need them to beat Ada first. :coffee:

I checked on Joe Eitel's website and it is indicating that PH does not control their own destiny concerning the playoff outlook. What else needs to "go their way" besides beating Wauseon in week ten?

The problem is PH really only has 2 opponents that have a chance of winning and giving them points and that's Liberty Center over Archbold and WG over Dayton Christian and even those games are in question(Swanton/Allen East too). It's plausible PH's 2nd level points will get no addition this week outside of the win vs. Wauseon which hurts quite a bit. The rest is pretty straight forward in terms of wins and losses, but there are 2nd level games for other teams as well. I'll take a look at them more later.

Thanks Jeffcat, I did note that Ursuline clinched over in region 17 so I wouldn't be surprised to see Coldwater and Ursuline knocking heads in the div. 5 state finals..

What interests me is how Kirtland does against Ursuline. It's been a few years since they last played.

Based on who each has played, I'm not sure if Kirtland will give Ursuline much of a game.

I agree. Uruline big over kirtland and will probably win a lopsided state title over coldwater.

If any of these three things happen (Archbold/LC, Seneca East/Carey or Clearview/Columbia) then PH is in. Even if all these games goes against PH, they would finish anywhere from 6th to 9th. The number of second level games that will need to be tracked is just downright crazy. (Some of the bigger games are Scott/Rogers, Black River/Keystone, South Central/New London, Margaretta/SMCC, Bluffton/Grove, Swanton/Allen East). Hopefully Ober will have his people out and busy to get all the scores needed.

Who they have played is rather irrelevant. Kirtland had them beat a few years ago with the same schedule, but snuffed it away at the end.

Both Kirtland and Norwayne played a fluff schedule.......yet still won state.

He must have been talking about 2008. Kirtland lost by 1 that year then 2 years later were drilled

You need a win and some help with losses by a few of these teams Carey, Liberty Center, Wayne Trace, Western Reserve or Columbia.

Is Patrick Henry eliminated it if both Eastwood and Liberty Center lose in week ten?

I'm no expert but if Columbia wins they will probably finish ahead of L-B I don't think the Liberty-Center game will change where L-B finishes because if Liberty Center wins they would be ahead of L-B but that means Archbold lost so they would drop below L-B. So that game is a wash as far as L-B moving up or down. My best guess is if Columbia wins they will host L-B. Gonna be close they lose and L-B should have a home game. I think Maybe Oberhaus can shed some better light on this subject he is better with the numbers than I am.
