And no, Coldwater is D-V. I will take the top 5 MAC schools over their WBL counterpart.

Because sayin a conference full of DII and DIII and DIV schools would win against a conference that is made up of DV and DVI is saying a lot. But, hey. How many state championships in football does the WBL have???

I honestly think the WBL vs. MAC would be awesome to watch. Kind of like Big Ten vs. ACC. It wouldn't help out the WBL by any means for playoff points but I believe they would match up very well in all sports.

Coop left to where the talent is? remember when coop came to LCC, LCC just came off another losing season and he turned them around to a playoff team. The reason LCC has talent is because the culture changed to a winning atmosphere which changes the athlete to drive themselevs to win. Psycopath reaction? The man held his tongue from saying what he really wanted to say.

LCC had good classes coming up in their younger classes with the Nathan and Huggins kid off the top of my head. It's not like they had a dry well there as those freshman and sophmores that were there the year before became all state athletes later on. Likewise, at Grove, Blaine Maag, Mayberry, Jesko, Young, and all those older guys and track athletes from that state championship team were gone. That Keck kid was one glimmer of talent left and had promise while he was there, but I think he had a string of concussions and was unable to play....after that...Coop flew the coop as it was dryer than a bone and it reflected on their record.

I certainly wouldn't this year. Celina already creamed Versailles who is arguably the 2nd best team in the MAC or maybe 3rd best. Kenton lost to Coldwater, but they got creamed by OG too. OG/Coldwater would be a very interesting game to watch though. Typically, I would go with Coldwater, but seeing OG's defense against spread teams and their power running game, I think would go with OG in that game. I think the MAC could win some of the games, but looking at the Top 5 in each conference, I see the WBL winning 4-1 probably and wouldn't be surprised at all if they won all of those games.

In their defense, winning in bigger division football is much more difficult than D6 or even D5. St Marys and Kenton have both faired well at state though against quality teams in D4. The only team that can make that case in the MAC is Coldwater.

Per Cal Preps

DSJ is by no means terrible this year, but Elida would defeat them rather soundly in my opinion. I can see somebody's case for Coldwater beating OG, but I think OG matches up well against Coldwater just like OG matches up well against Kenton and OG would win...just my opinion. Celina already smashed Versailles who beat ML by 10. Kenton only beating Minster by 1.....ummm...no. I mean that with zero disrespect to Minster too, but they would not hang with Kenton, especially at this stage of the season. Now I could definitely see Versailles beating Bath. I will give you that one, but why you have Bath in that mix instead of Wapak(who beat Bath soundly), is a bit confusing. Even so, I think Versailles and Wapak could be a toss up, but Wapak would probably be favored.

While I agree LCC had strong classes coming up, I would argue that they had pretty talented classes before Coop arrived that didn't win more than 3 or 4 games (although maybe not quite as talented as some of the guys on those teams would have you believe :pokey: ). For the record, Huggins was a senior in Coop's first year and Nathan left after his sophomore year to play at LSH.

I like Calpreps, but it is "blind" to divisions or size of school. Not sure that matters in this case, just an FYI.

Not sure I understand this. Take all the D4 teams and have them play each other and the cumulative record will be .500. Just like it would in D5 or D6. There are terrible teams and great teams in all divisions.

First of all, Versailles won the D4 title in 2003. Secondly, Versailles and Coldwater are the only MAC schools that have even PLAYED in D4. Of course they're the only schools that can 'make that case'.

Quite my case in D4 as they are the only schools. My main point in D4 is the quality of competition is vastly greater in D4 and above(in D5 too for that matter) than in D6....where the overwhelming majority of MAC championships are won. Beating the likes of Mogadore and Shadyside isn't the same as going through the gauntlets of power programs in larger divisions that can also rise and fall annually. The same thing doesn't really occur in D6 where it's really just a couple MAC schools, then what?...maybe 1 or 2 other schools on this side of the state that are in contention and it's usually pretty cut and dry annually at the title game. That's not always the same in D4 for example with Norwayne taking out Kenton last year or Kirtland "popping up" and putting it on Coldwater. DII is vastly different every year. DIII tends to be different as well. DI keeps a pool of the same teams(Iggy, Eds, X, Colerain, etc), but that's been the trigger of why they are expanding to 7 divisions.
