You have to admit that the first half of the schedule has been pretty kind to them. I think their starters will be playing more the second half as the schedule ramps up. Any stats earned against HN should be discounted severely. Here's hoping week 10 is a victory for them.

It also doesn't help that Ada plays teams in the league like Paulding. Only 1 good team on the schedule.

Not to mention they get 2 opportunities a year to schedule decent teams for their non league games. And they have scheduled HN and USV as those two games. Not exactly preparing yourself for the playoffs when you play the NWC and those two schools. LCC has two pretty good non league games in St. John's and Columbus Bishop Ready and they still struggle getting the necessary experience and situations that make a team tough for the playoffs (see 2011). But if Ada wants to take that next step that really need to up their level of competition where they can control it, outside the league. Maybe with the addition of the third non league game coming they will schedule some better competition in that slot and hopefully drop USV in favor of someone else.

A few years ago having HN on the schedule was considered pretty brutal. It also didn't affect HN's preparation for long playoff runs and a state title by having a struggling Ada team on the schedule. Ada and HN/USV are huge rivalries and belong on the schedule in my opinion.

In recent memory I know Ada has scheduled non-league games against HN - yearly even when they were a threat to win state for over a decade, Delphos St. Johns one year, LCC before they joined the NWC, Fort Loramie, USV, and Toledo Christian.

USV is dropping Ada off their schedule next year. Hardin Northern is another possibilty of a dropped game.

I hate to admit it but I have to agree... with Ada's success over the past several years, playing teams like HN and USV doesn't do much for them in regards to preparing for the playoffs. In fact, it does more harm than good. It's hard to go against these rivalries but at this time, it would be best for Ada to look for bigger challenges as long as they stay on this current streak. Back in the day, these rivarlies were fun to compete in but those days are long passed. Now on the other hand.... USV vs. HN would be a good matchup in my opinion.

Any consideration for Ada and Leipsic to start a week one rivalry. I know Leipsic is definately looking for week 1 since Hopewell will now fall later into the league schedule.

So exactly how long will Ada 'stay on this current streak'? Did you know a mere five years ago that Hardin Northern was going to go in the tank after being a power for many years? You can't switch your schedule around from year to year based on how good you think you or your opponents will be.

you are right in 94...lost to HN first game of the year...only lost in the NWC that year was to DJ...then lost to DSJ in first round of the play-offs when only four per region made it.

Ada did great last night against Paulding. Paulding was putting up a good fight, too. If that would-be touchdown didn't get called back in the first half, it would have made a difference. Ada showed how good they are. Acheson is distributing the ball out more. Roberson had a couple good receptions, as did Szippl, and Ansley and Wilcox got their usual share, too. I was wrong about the line. The three sophmores held up good in the middle against Sonny Man. Ada is looking good

just to correct everybody......Ada beat HN in 1996 and 2000. Only losses HN had in 1994 were both to Leipsic. once in season and once in playoffs at Lima stadium

Ada also beat HN in 88, just throwing my two cents in there. Don't want everyone to think prior to 96, that Ada hasn't beaten HN.

Past years don't matter! This year is the one that counts and as of now ada is the most dominant in the Nwc. Lets see how the do against a Roop-less Crestview Knights this week!

This will be Ada's first real game or at least a game to guage where they are at. Crestview's backup seems to be improving and he is also a good FG kicker. Crestview looked better than I thought they would last night vs. DJ as their QB has quite an arm if he gets enough experience and Oliver is a playmaker for them.

I'd like to see USV and HN play as well. That would be a great OOC game for both parties.
