Ada has a player in the top 5 of the following categories: Passing, Rushing, Scoring, Total Yards, Receiving, Tackles, and Sacks.

Well, to be fair, it doesn't help that Ada has played all awful teams. It definitely adds to the statistics. Stats don't mean anything in the scheme of things.

Agree on teams change dramatically from scrimmages, but man, Arlington put a whoopin on Ada pretty good. In fact, the Ada coach even admitted they would be down this year. Who knows - maybe these two meet in the playoffs this year assuming both get there.

Arlington is improving, but not with the elite in the BVC yet that is for sure. Thinking next 4 yrs at Atown will be some of the best we have seen since the 80's, or at least should be.

I find it very hard to believe that Mike Fell told you his team was going to be in your words down this year. If this is a down year Ada Football is in solid hands. Give Arlington props for winning a scrimmage. Your coaches game planned well and executed it. Maybe someday they will do the same against one of the big three in the bvc. It was a scrimmage, good teams use those to build depth, try new things and get ready for the season. Average or bad teams use them to build confidence by going all out. Ada played without two starting two way players in the secondary/WR. They lost another interior defensive lineman during the ten play. For god sake the defense was rotating linebackers almost every play. Ansley was also back for the first time after having an ankle injury in the summer. Try running a spread offense in practice without three starters at wide receiver and a new qb. Add in no prep for protection with three new 10th grade lineman and limiting the runs for your qb and back to keep them healthy.

Trust me Arlington doesn't want to match up with Ada when it matters.

Beech Jet and The Fan please stop with the Baker/Acheson debate. It is unnecessary. This coaching staff has and will continue to play the players that give it the best chance to win. In the past two years that was Baker. This year it is clearly Acheson. Just support the team and leave your unproductive analysis of who should play and who is better to the people who know. Our coaches. Remember my friends in our day Ada football was not very good.

Sorry BOB... but I quite simply stated what I observed a couple weeks ago. Your boy terminator is the one who tried and make the comparison. Like I said before, Acheson is more than likely their best option at the QB position and I hope he excels as the season goes on. He is no doubtedly surrounded by some really good athletes so it should make him better. Believe me, I'm pulling for this kid to help Ada get deep in the playoffs.

From the looks of things, Arlington fans shouldn't be worrying about how bad they beat Ada in a scrimmage.

I hope they do meet in the playoffs. If they do, I will give you arlington +14 for any wager that makes you happy. I'm not an Ada fan.....I'm actually the complete opposite lol but for you to claim arlington is better than Ada is just insane. Stop it.

First of all BOB, debate on a forum such as this is why posters are here. I have not, however, offered anything other than my opinion and observations. I have not made any unproductive analysis of who should play or who should not play, nor have I been critical of Ada's coaches. My support of Ada's team is strong and untarnished. Furthermore I don't appreciate being told that Ada football back in my youthful days of black and white film was not very good. Lastly, I stand by my comment that I have not witnessed Acheson stare down his target yet (there is a lot of season left) as I had observed Baker do in the past. Maybe he will sometime (I hope he doesn't), but I haven't witnessed it thus far.
Oh and one more thing; the next time you call me out and in essence tell me to keep my opinions to myself--don't.

When the opinions and observations of adults are about the play of individuals on a high school team your priorities have to be questioned. As far as what you appreciate or don't appreciate, it is really of no concern to me. Your criticism of Konnor Baker is legendary here on the corner. Maybe your family members were not open. Get over it.

Be smart enough to realize that when the fan criticized Acheson and you defended him a debate would form on who is better. Unfortunately, kids read this and begin to do the same. My point is that it is counter productive to start a debate on which qb is better. The team is playing well and Acheson doesn't need to live up to or be compared to past players. If in essence you decode that to mean keep your opinion to yourself, well then take your own advice.

If you go back far enough it was I who stated on here that I believed Baker was a better quarterback than Ty O'Connor, a statement which brought much laughter and derision aimed at me to be sure, but I admit I said it nonetheless. It is not like I have some legendary hatred towards the young man. My intent was to praise the current play of Acheson, the past play of Baker is well documented.
Watching high school football as an adult and enjoying your team while holding opinions and observations regarding the play of these young men is not an out of place priority in my opinion. The Rocketcorner has been an enjoyable hobby to me for the most part.

I know Ada regularly play's HN as it's opening game and has won the past couple of years. When is the last time a BVC team beat Ada? They've played several BVC teams while in region 22. I'm just curious.

2007 lost to Hardin Northern in 1st game of season 20-35, then beat Arlington that same year in regional finals at Lima Stadium 31-28. After that year, other than playing HN in 1st game of season each season since, Ada has defeated 3 BVC teams in playoffs (2008, 2009, 2010 before Ada moved to region 24)

And prior to 2008 Ada was on more than a decade long losing streak to the BVC
