I know a lot of RC'rs are still without power, but heres hoping all is well and if any damage it is only possesions and no injuries.
Ada(most of) got power back around 8 this morning but it is still going off and on periodicaly all day. AM hearing Delphos,VanWert, Columbus Grove and Ottawa are all pretty bad.

Be safe out there and if any RC'rs that know me and need a place to chill out in AC or need water etc...you are more than welcome to stop over......

Paulding got absolutely slammed and may have ended up with the worst of it.

Defiance got it but was spared of the worst.........barely. There was a light pole 2 blocks from me that fell over and took cable lines with it, leading to my cable, internet, and landline phone being out overnight. Our lights went out for about 30 seconds then flickered off and on most of the rest of the night, but never went completely out. Other areas of town were without power, but everyone had it back by this morning. Overall not bad considering what others have.

Quite a bit of my family is in Paulding and I almost feel guilty about being here with power while they suffer without it. I plan on going over there tomorrow to see some of them. Maybe if there's nothing else going on I'll help with some of the cleanup.

I live on 281 north of Holgate. We had some scary wind but I think we just caught the northern edge of the storm. We never lost power but the wind did shift my shed about 10 feet while the dogs were inside. They were freaked out.

Delphos has LOTS of trees down, many of them BIG! Quite a few streets closed on certain blocks until the trees can be moved. I got power back at midnight but parts of town are still out. Columbus Grove took a beating as well.

I've never been in a hurricane but I think I got a taste of what it would be like yesterday. It was impressive.

Have you ever seen a bomb area? :pokey:

Columbus has quite a mess on their hands and quite a few people without power. We never lost power in our area, but quite a few people in the Columbus metro are still without power. I know quite a few people in Delphos got it bad. I heard Christie's in Grove got blown out and the 2nd floor caved out on some cars and some friends of mine just finished up putting up a big pole barn the day before the storm...well that pole barn is no longer there. :sadbanana: Last I heard, there was only 1 gas station in Delphos, but I haven't checked with the Delphinians since this morning. I bet that's a hilarious sight to see. I can only imagine what it's like in other cities like Ottoville or Spencerville without gas stations.

Hopefully nobody takes this as me being rude because it's the last thing I'm trying to do. But from a pure business standpoint, this was the best thing to happen to Defiance. Hicksville is dark. Sherwood, outside of the gas station, is dark. Paulding is out. Antwerp is out. Continental is out. Areas of southern Henry County are out. Most of Fort Wayne is dark. So basically every town with any kind of population to speak of within a 20 mile radius of us has no power. We're getting slammed. Everyone is in town to get food or get out of the heat. Even talked to a few people from Fort Wayne saying they came all the way over just to cool off.

Lima and Wapak get hit big time, Bellefontine gets hit just as bad, yet Russells point and Lakeview were totally missed. It's like the storm jumped right over indian lake!

I'm sure it's a novel concept in the smaller towns. This will force people to go outside and do stuff like walk, eat places, and talk to other human beings.

The storm was fast moving(65mph) and developing and was much smaller around Ft. Wayne where it was only about 50 miles wide. By the time it got around Delphos it was starting to stretch out more. When it hit Columbus, it was a solid 250-300 miles wide.

If you meant Spencerville didn't have a gas station period, you are Wrong! Spencerville has two stations actually.

As for the power outage, I lost it about 5 on Friday, and got it back at 11 last night. I do Not live in Spencerville, I think a part of town is out still, and it might be awhile for them.

Additionally, I am pretty sure Ottoville has at least two, if not three, gas stations.

But I do not know their power situation(s)...

I was referring to the fact that they wouldn't have any gas stations if the power was out and they only have 2, therefore they don't exactly have a lot of option aside from going to Lima.

To the shock of absolutely nobody you're wrong yet again. Both gas stations had power as of Sunday. Shell was one of the only places in town with power and had people coming from all around this weekend to get gas.

Consider the source. On this page he also claimed that small town people don't go outside, don't talk to each other, don't walk anywhere and don't "eat places"?.

To the shock of absolutely nobody, you clearly didn't read what I just posted. I was referring to IF the gas stations were closed.

This is true. I bet people are all complaining about how they don't know what to do with power, open the door to the outside world without facebook, twitter, and TV and are just blown away. They might just go out and play and find some place they didn't know existed. :o
