The simple truth is that Hiland does not make Columbus this year, let alone win it, without the transfer. That is the truth without judgement.

...is/was the weakest part of my argument. I did this quite a few posts back. Credits to C-town for having the courage to say what a lot of informed basketball posters already knew...

But you might still be missing a bigger point. I knew that this was a weak argument when I made it. I fully expected it to be challenged...just not on page #14.

I questioned it on page 9, but you were too busy projecting your verbiage to realize it.

Dman - I'm just messing with you!!! I have been for days! I just found it highly amusing that you said - granted quite a while back - that anyone who said they make it to state without #23 "doesn't have an ounce of credibility" or whatever it was exactly. You've been spouting things as being TRUTH as if they are gospel and there isn't the slightest inkling of a possibility for there to be ANY other way of looking at it. You did it like 10 times. I quit counting!

And then you come back and agree to change it. Of course I'm gonna call you on it! I think it's funny. I quit being in any way bothered by you about 2 days into my being involved in this thread. From then on its been strictly to call you out on statements that I feel to be inaccurate or - more importantly - YOUR OPINIONS PUT FORTH AS BEING FACT.

Oh, and because for the last several days Flounder has been begging me - first privately and now blatantly - to keep it going because he's entertained by it :) :) :)

I'm truly sorry if you feel that this is a joke at your expense - I'd rather hope its a "laughing with rather than at" approach - but honestly, JUST MESSING WITH YOU!

tflo.....

I am sure Dman will understand, but from now on, I will need to find someone to cover my backside....Dman.....unlike some on this thread, I think tflo and myself understand exactly where you are coming from....I definitely understand how you feel, and actually am in your corner on many of the current issues........but, I also can see tflo's side also, as my school was in that very same situation years ago....and yes, I did encourage tflo somewhat.......but, I, in no way did it for disrespect.....I find your posts intriguing, well written, and most of all informative..............and every time I read your posts, I have a dictionary beside me.....you will always have my respect as one of the best posters on the Rocketcorner!!!!!!

Anybody who knows me...knows I LOVE confrontation. I mean this with all sincerity...until this thread I did not recognize tflo's screen name. In fact, there are very few screen names I remember. Lots of times I will debate people 10 times over, and forget who they were the first 9 times. Slice, flounder, C-town, H-dog, RM, and I'm certain I'm leaving out a few others are about the only screen-names I know. It is about the conversation/debate/argument for me. I'm as happy to be wrong as right. Though I'm uncertain if the former has ever been conclusively experienced... :D Anyhow, I like this tflo chick...I'll remember her name and look forward to future conversations.

By the way...if he has the means...the kid at Vanlue should look at Hiland. As stated earlier...I'm all for him skipping that situation as quickly as possible.

...now onto better things...like pissing off Putnammom and painting flounder a lefty...

May I suggest you start a "Dman is a Dick" thread. That way you will always be on subject. :D :pokey: :D

Why piss on the parade?

That is a very valid weakness of my delivery to point out. Though I may opine that such a general rebuttal could be used to refute ANY legitimate points of disagreement for ANY topic. For example…

Flounder: “The NWC are a bunch of pink-panty wearing Obama’s afraid to play LCC.”
Rebuttal: “Why you pissing on the NWC’s parade dude?” “Let them do what they want.”

It is not really a solid rebuttal absent strong supporting evidence.

Part of the liberalization of society that you that you so often rally against is made possible by alleviating alternative opinions. While this particular conversation has yet to descend to the typical “don’t make fun of the children”…”why piss on the parade” is the precursor. What you are really saying is “shut up” Dman. Even if you speak the truth, we don’t need to hear it. The children don’t need to hear it. I opine that your attempt to censor legitimate discussion is as liberal an action as anything the OHSAA is doing?

More pertinent to the discussion is the fact you have ignored my legitimate questions? Do you denounce those trophies in DSJ’s case, Hiland’s case…any of them…just because they were achieved under the pretense of an artificial (liberal) categorization?

If you accept and endorse those trophies as legitimate reminders of a REAL accomplishment, then you have no choice but to admit to yourself that you are indeed a supporter of liberal demarcations. Moment to note that I do accept those trophies as reminders of REAL accomplishment worthy of high honor. But I’m not the participant in this discussion who has invoked the concept of liberalization as a weak spot in the argument of those who don’t particularly endorse “transfers” with open arms.

While you argue that those who don’t openly accept “transfers” are a bunch of liberal whiny wussies (a legitimate opinion by the way), I can just as easily argue that the liberal wussies are those coaches/schools who initially bucked conservative societal norms by openly recruiting/accepting “transfers.” I’ll take it a step further and say that I could actually argue, by the strict definition of liberalism, that the latter scenario is a much more classic example than the former.

The point is not about whose position is right or wrong. This is just a discussion. But I would like to point out that there is a good chance that you flounder are the pink panty-wearing wuss…or at least the guy defending such a position.

Now if you would like to step back from the liberal political connotation and discuss from a more conservative values based perspective…I’ve got that angle covered too. Besides the obvious fact that pissing on societal norms is the antithesis to conservatism…there is the macho/toughness aspect that seeps from your words. I can make a strong case that the wussies are the teams that utilize transfers because they are too weak to do it themselves. Hiland would not fit this argument, but plenty of historical programs could. I can argue that LCC choosing to play in the NWC is possibly the weakest action by a supposed strong achiever in the history of Ohio sports. Need I go on?

So in conclusion… I have demonstrated that there is a good chance that you (flounder) are the most liberal member of the RC community. As such…can I call you Al?

P.S. You know I’m playing with you. I acknowledge that there are different ways of looking at these scenarios. But I will honestly acknowledge that I BELIEVE that my vies are more consistent with conservatism that yours. This does not mean I’m right. It just means I think I am! I’m sure you feel the same.

Dman.....

I just read your post in reference to my being a liberal.....and I must reply that is so far from the truth....I haven't voted Democrat my entire life, but voting Republican has suddenly taken on a new image.....liberalism is killing this country....now, back to sports...."the NWC are a bunch of pink-panty wearing Obama's afraid to play LCC"......although I agree with that statement, I don't recall making it..... I still think deep down that LCC would be a plus in the NWC.....

I like the banter Dman, but I think you should fry the bigger fish in this thread.....that being Putnammom!!!!!!

Given the behavior is classic “woman scorned” and the fact she claims to know my carefully hidden identity…I’ll have to assume this is an X-girlfriend. As such...there is good chance my quite average measurements are no secret either…

…and now we all know what the uncomfortably inappropriate dancing phallus is for! :pickles:

Putnammom…I can assure that any indiscretions in my past are but shallow bouts of youthful exuberance. Don’t take it personally. I can’t stand that jerk either. Decent chance there are many mom’s in the tri-county area who feel as violated as you. I'm very sorry.

Just to clear something up, I think I' m being confused with P C Lady. I have an idea who she might be, but i know we are different people.
As far as knowing the Dman I can only guess. Therefore I doubt I ever dated him. Married my high school sweetheart.
Guess I'll have to contact PC Lady to find out who he is.
It is good to see the Dman lighten up a bit on this thread. A little humor is good for the soul.
