Doesn't sound like in this particular instance at OG, the girls are having much fun and are thus not going out.
I have had several people whose girls are in elementary school telling me this coach needs to go. They have no vested interest at this point.

The elementary school parents are probably getting their info from the elementary bball coaches that are part of "The Posse".

Unbelievable........ I know alot of schools would like to have that record in 12 years. A great coach......... this is just too bad. To OG's "the Posse"- I hope you are happy but the grass isn't always greener on the other side. I hope she gets a coaching job that is on OG's schedule and comes back with her new team and kicks your a**.

Well congratulations folks. You got it done! I hope you are very proud of yourselves. I know some of you on this so-called posse and to be quite honest, I'm embarrassed.
And to Lori---congratulations on a great job coaching and surviving as long as you did. You are better off not having to deal with these people anymore.

Couldn't agree with you more than that - Charlie B. I can't believe that the so-called "POSSE" got there wishes!! All I can say Lori you are better off - shouldn't have to put up with all of this - Good Luck - just like bball_fanatic said hope she keeps on coaching and has OG on the schedule!! What goes around comes around!!

I wonder if the "videographer" got the shoving match between one of the "posse" members and an Ottoville HS student. Seems the guy had an issue with the kids standing in front of him.....even though he was in the Ottoville student section. He didn't leave until after shoving an OHS kid....and being told to leave by an Ottoville administrator.

'Sheen,
I did not hear that this scene made the grade.........like in most movies that are made, a lot of stuff is left lying around on the cutting room floor

Flounder,

Don't try reasoning with Victorian because that is an impossible task. See all, hears all, knows nothing!!

Vic......

If they have no vested interest, then why did they form this opinion......just wondering!!!!!

They will (would have) eventually.....but their daughter is in 2-4th grade.......
This person would not be part of the "posse"

lmoa......who in their right mind...after reading this thread, would apply for the OG job.......this whole thing is a joke, and Coach Smith is better off not having to contend with this 'lunatic posse'.....man, when I played, I played for one of the greatest coaches ever.....did he belittle, cuss a little, and make one feel like a bozo......sure he did, but he did it for me.....to help me reach my potential.....I feel very bad that Coach Smith had to go through this....what a travesty......as for the 'posse'.....you will get yours....believe me, it will happen, mainly because your daughters are superstars.....but only in your eyes.....which is very typical of 85% of all parents of high school athletes......you are judging with your heart, and most of the time you will be wrong!!!!!!

I was there It didnt happen that way, . He didnt push anyone he just left because the kid from Ottoville said something to him. but he was sitting in the kids section and he couldnt see because the kids was standing up. And he was telling the kids to sit down thats when the kid said for him to move if he didnt like it.. Then the videographer went over to the kid and grabed his face, because that was her father. And they want Lori Smith out because shes a hot head.

Not true....and your post doesn't even make sense. The guy wasn't the videographer's father.....did you maybe mean husband....lol. The guy didn't leave the student section until former OG teacher and now Ottoville principal John Thorbahn intervened and threated to throw him out. He did push a kid. Heard it from multiple sources connected to both teams.

After becoming the schools all time winningest coach, coach smith has officially tendered her resignation........ due to personal reasons ( read parental interference)..... now the search begins 4 a junior high or c y o coach who will take the reins of this program.......

Does anyone like me believe That just opened the door 4 coach brooks to make the transition over to og? This move might have been a little bit in the making As earlier this summer he was seen sitting in the stands with some of these so called parents.......... just a thought

Good grief Zoomer....please don't even joke about that.....lol. I find it hard to believe that he'd pass the "I promise not to yell at players" section of the test that is going to be administered to any potential applicants :)

last evening the posse got together at a favorite glandorf watering hole to celebrate their win. just so happened that the old coach was there for a retirement party and it did temper their enthusiasm somewhat.while the majority of this posse is from glandorf a couple of the ottawa members also made their wayacross the river to join in.rm, is there anything to the junior high coach applying for the job? it seemed like they really didn'tcare who the next coach will be. maybe former boys assistant coach from ottoville?

Someone who is the most winningest coach normally at a school just doesnt resign. The coach probably was told to resign or get let go.
It's sad how a hand full of people do control this BOE and AD as well. But maybe the AD went to bat for her. Did he or she? Keep the RC posted on who gets this position as We would like to know how close they are to the situation now.

This whole situation is just terrible to the O-G sports program in general. I just never thought that the various situations that lead to this going on in other school districts would rear its ugly head at O-G. It just shows how doggone naive I am. I wish Coach Smith the best in her future endeavors whatever and wherever that may be. I guess it shows that the various league championships and trips to the regionals are and were a distant memory. And in some peoples minds, maybe that in and of itself, that never ever happen.

I have no ties with the OG sports program, but feel that this could have been handled differently....there are many ways to diffuse a situation than putting it out in the public.....I hope all works out for Coach Smith....she gave some quality years to the school, and deserved better than this!!!!!!
