I haven't heard personally from anybody or read in the newspapers where Riverdale has said "not interested" to the BVC yet. If it is so, then so be it. I think it would be in their best interest to be a part of the BVC. I'm quite surprised that my personal arguments for inclusion in the BVC are considered "whining", but I guess I'll consider the source... I've heard others besides myself that feel the same way.
Regardless of this whole BVC thing, the N10 is something Riverdale doesn't have to wonder about. It is scheduled to happen, and we're planning on being a part of it and joining with familiar schools and reuniting with some old foes. I feel it is still a better group of schools than the current NCC.
We have to go with what is known at this point and time. An expanded BVC is just speculation.

This BVC thing is NOT to gauge interest. The previous letter was to gauge interest.
The meeting on the 19th is to discuss the possibility of expansion. Grant you, that is not an FACT that expansion will occur, but if you cannot see that the BVC is deadly serious about this, than I don't know what to tell you.
Here is one thing I will tell you. That several of the BVC schools saw Riverdale as option #1. For obvious reasons.
That said, bob22 is right. I fully expect Riverdale to be invited to come on the 19th, and whether they will come or not will be up to them. I would. But that is JMO.

I do think they will still get an invite. And if I had my choice I'd pick Ada, Bluffton, HL and Riverdale. I know two of those responded yes ,one said no, and one didn't even send it back.
Try to lighten up alittle falcon..You get so defensive. Wow! But i just consider the source ....

You do have me pegged correctly as getting defensive...It seems that you usually give me a pretty hard time on these threads as soon as you can get a "dig" in on either me or Riverdale. That's why I said "consider the source"...it was the typical response I ususally get.

I had forgotten that the 16th was the deadline, but I hadn't heard anything official on who had or had not responded to the BVC's inquiry (only what people posted on here). The Courier had a story when the initial letters went out, I figured they might continue to keep us up to date when as the deadline passed and as the AD's met to discuss the next steps. Maybe Coach B could give us some insight on this.
Regardless, Riverdale could have, and should have (in many people's opinions) sent back a reply with interest. If not, maybe they have a good reason, possibly out of respect for the procedure of forming the new N10 conference. I hope that should the BVC decide to expand, that Riverdale is courted by them. I would go as far as to request the BVC showing interest in Carey also. These schools may not have sent back replies, but does it not make sense to ask anyways?
HH75 stated that "this isn't the first time the falcons have passed on the BVC". I may be wrong, but I can't recall that being the case. I know we've inquired/applied in the past and not been accepted. Maybe that goes back to the days when Riverdale consolidated...I'm not sure how that went, but I know Mt. Blanchard was in the same conference as the other Hancock County schools until that time. To my knowledge, since consolidating, we've never had the chance to turn down an invitation.

Upsetting the apple cart is the only thing that makes sense to me. Fact is Riverdale didn't send a letter back, and then unanimously the board accepted to join the N10.
FF84, why would the BVC send an invite to a school that didn't even send back a response to an interest inquiry?

The entire Vanlue board/Administration is out of control right now. They held a special board session to determine the fate of the superintendant which was a 3-2 vote to keep him. The Super in return fires a winning basketball coach who couldnt win enough in the eyes of the super. And to answer your question... Vanlue has one vote just like every other member school.

What's sad is the writers of the BVC expansion proposal made great efforts to include positives for the small schools as well as for the larger ones. Do you really think the majority of schools would support a NB if it wasn;t for trying to appease Vanlue.

If my Red Devil leaders blow this, I'm starting a recall movement on the administration. If Rod Russ' was still here this wouldn't be a problem!
