Rocket, doesn't he live in carey district and open enrolled to vanlue? If so only way he could attend lb without sitting a year is to move into district, correct?

I think his parents are divorced so one just needs to set up residence in another school district and he lives with them and he is eligible to play right away as long as his primary residence is in the new school district.....happens all the time in bigger cities in the state....who knows maybe some LB backer would give his parent a "break" on the rent too? Just saying it was funny how when LB girls won state a few years back all they needed was a point guard and one just happened to "move in" to the district at just the right time.

Here's to Garber looking at his options and realizing his BEST option is Arlington!! 3 Sophomores that play big minutes on a current state semi final team and deep talent all around.

IF Garber transfers, he would do it (I assume) for his best personal interest and want to have a shot at BVC championship as well as a run at state tourney. Having said that, he really only has 2-3 good options. Findlay High School, Liberty Benton (talent is not that robust right now) and Arlington. My guess is that if he does move, it will be to one of these three schools unless he goes to Carey cause it is the easiest transition with a parent already living there. Regardless of who gets him, someone would be very, very happy.

Come on Postplayer he would fit in real well with my Blue Jackets as well, a team with talent returning (and another team that beat Vanlue this year). You know what they say, if you can't beat them join them. You are right where ever he plays next year witll be very happy to have him on their team.

Donuts....I saw that game you are speaking of, and though NR won, it was one of the most, um, "interesting" displays of so-called basketball I have ever seen. Rumor had it at the time that after that game the referee's association was informed that the serious undercutting and flops consistently called as charges had better not happen again. I was really very surprised someone didn't get hurt. I am quite sure the Garber kid (and the other big kid they have---a senior though I believe) haven't forgotten that---might put NR much farther down the list of consideration, although you guys could definitely use some size.:) bvcpclmal--Maybe I'm wrong, but I don't think Arlington is going to be terrible. They graduate a lot but I thought their younger teams were decent also, and the pre-state articles in the paper talk about a couple of underclassmen coming back. I guess only time will tell what happens at Vanlue and what the future holds. Too bad this is happening at all. Just as in quite a few schools in the area--people/adults do things that really adversely affect a program and then wonder why kids get soured on participating.

I talked with a Vanlue person about mid season and was told he could be going to Carey next year. I asked why and he said because the Coach (Kloepfer) was not returning. If hes looking for a league title and deep run in the tourney he might want to leave the Lue. Vanlue has had a pretty good run the past few years but looks like its slowly coming to an end. He's a real nice player and wish him the best.

LB has 5 of the top 6 players returning next year. Team did get to the district finals.

Interesting that the conversation is about where he will/might go instead of saying he should stay at his home school. Apparently everyone is A-okay with kids transferring from school to school for sports.

Bobby......I am kinda like you....surprised that folks are speculating that he will go elsewhere......Where are all of those dedicated Vanlue folks? Of course you realize that if he goes elsewhere, that will leave them with one less on their football team as well. I think he would stay.....he probably has quite a few Vanlue records within his reach.

I was in cbus at state semi games today and Garber subject came up and the school mentioned was Akron SVSM....he played on a NE Ohio AAU team last year and there must be some connection there and a parent may run into a job possibility up there. I thought it was a longshot but wnated to toss it in the mix as well. Carey is D3 and LB talent is much better than Carey in D3. Best chance at tourney run is to stay with a D4 team IMO as not a lot of 6-9 kids there so he can make a real difference.

Tiffin dude...how long you gonna be bashing NR for beating Vanlue or flopping to victory as you like to say....not a great game by the refs but if Vanlue coach would have gotten the ball to Garber before 4th quarter it would not have mattered. Good teams and coach's need to adjust to the refs

after watching Berlin Hiland beat us, I am now on board for HS recruiting to win championships :bag: . Their top two players were transfers after sophomore year, and it didn't hurt they are 6'5" and 6'7" and can play. The 6'5" kid is going to UF.

As for the comment about Arlington being down next year, you apparently have not watched us play this year. I suspect another big year is coming.

Lefty...not bashing, just stating an opinion, much like others have about other teams on here. That game just left a really bad taste in my mouth I guess, and I found it ironic that someone would come one here pleading their case about wanting a player after all that. No ill will intended--NR has had, and will probably continue to have, a nice program, finishing at or near the top of their league and getting a nice tournament run. Just an observation, that's all.

Postplayer--Arlington had themselves a very nice season. Players changing schools may be for any number of reasons--just look at this particular thread and why it was started; I think I saw another thread discussing Hiland transfers and talking about Bonifant wanting to go to a quality program where kids cared and invested their time in it...along with playing with an old friend. Whatever the reason, it definitely made a huge difference in their team. Great run by the Red Devils, though. Congratulations.
