I'm not saying OG will beat LCC every time the two teams play for now on.......but as a titan fan I know we will always have the coaching edge.

Now anybody that had the Titans down at the Schott in T-Mac's first year, please stand up. The Grove game was definitely the turning point for the coaches actually taking command of this year's team with all that happened afterward. See everybody at the Schott with the Blue crew. Have I mentioned before that life is indeed very good in D3 ??

Congratulations to the Titans. I've always felt one of the indications of really good coaching is how the team improves throughout a season. With OG and Arlington our area has a good representation of this phenomenon at the top end. Both communities have a lot to be proud of. :punk:
I've missed more than 9,000 shots in my career. I've lost almost 300 games. 26 times, I've been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I've failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed.

Really? LCCs schedule will cause them to lose? Please. They won a state title two years ago with less talent and the exact same schedule. Im not too sure if LCC loses tonight, their schedule will be the reason why. It will be be because OG out plays them and deserves to win the game.

After watching the game last night there is no friggin' way this year's LCC team has more talent than the one 2 years ago. The thing that sticks out to me is O'Connor, Taflinger and Kidd were big contributors to the 2010 state champion team. Last night they score 6, 2 and 5 points. LCC is a collection of individual talent that lacks chemistry and was beaten last night by a better TEAM. But the biggest thing LCC misses is Seggs presence on the bench.

give the LCC coach a couple of years. His 1st year he had 10 guys who could play and coming after a Legend. Any coach would feel some pressure from that. This year he got his boys to the regional finals and they didnt play big. I have seen better teams get beat in districts by worse OG teams.

Seg was their forever and how many state titles did he get? Al Welch? Dick? Wayno? It is one game and anything can happen.

Look at his 1st 4 years and if he is going 10-10 and getting beat in sectionals then Houston we have a problem.

I think it is more then that. Coaches don't let players play. They want to control every possesion. Even in 5th/6th grade tourneys you watch teams run set after set. Run some motion offense, set some picks and push the ball.

Defenses and scouting reports are a lot better too.

Plus it takes time for kids to develop basketball skills. Football is better in Ohio then 20 years ago because kids can excel with less time away from their computers, phones and tvs

  • a classic OG-LCC matchup..... of all the traditional area rivalries: LCC/DSJ, Napoleon/Defiance, Archbold/PH, Kalida/Ottoville, Holgate/Wayne Trace,...... this one seems to NEVER disappoint

Congrats to the og titans. Played a great game. Offensive rebounds and free throw shooting was the difference. Good luck at state.

for the 2nd straight year Og won this battle in the tourney.. Taff O'C and Kidd got their Ring soph year..OG got every charge/block call for the 2nd straight year..O'C hasn't been in foul trouble all year..until this game of course(2nd and 3rd were ridiculous)..OG coach is the man..Just ask him(blowing kisses to the crowd)..A division 2 team that somehow gets to d3 every year will dominate for the foreseeable future..It's obvious it doesn't matter who the Coach is as long as you stay under the D2 line every year or other year state tourney bound..Your talent and population is not even close to who you are competing against..Spencerville,PH,LB,LCC..etc Go Get em Titans, state loves you and all the fans you bring..trust me..
Can't wait to hear your conspiracy theory. :pickles:

Please explain where coaching was the difference....the best player/ rebounder on the court (oconnor) was in foul trouble the entire game, not boxing out and missing free throws was the difference. According to og fans, lcc or anyone for that matter could hire greg popovich and og would still have the coaching edge. Give your kids some credit. They played a great game. The og players won this game....not the student section, not the fans and not even their coach.
