I have never understood why a man would want this done? If the wife wants no more children, let her take care of it. After all it is her body bearing the children.
And.......there's no pain for either one!!
i tend to agree with this for the most part, as because of Roe vs. Wade; therefore take responsibility for the happenings to ypur own body & life you produce~or not....

Costs and risks. Vasectomy's are a lot cheaper and are outpatient procedures. Not the case when tying tubes.
but, as mo has pointed out, insurance-wise, lots cheaper..... also, the female reproductive system is a lot more complex, therefore, also lends itself to more possible complications.....

Well..... I think its very selfish on the wifes part. A vasectomy cannot be reversed. Tieing of the tubes can be reversed. Also a
women can get her tubes tied right after the birth of her last child. I really have never even hear of any risks at all getting tubes tied!!
not sure where selfish lends itself to this conversation when, if a married couple, then it should be an agreed/mutual subject....both coming to a conclusion best to fit their family......
*also, btw, both procedures these days are reversible.......
i think many variables could exist for every couple or individual..... age (not all partners are of like age), previous 'reproductive organ' problems (especially for the female), health, in general, size of family already (we certainly see plenty of women AND men who've 'parented' children & can't support the ones already in existance!), etc, etc, etc, ....... the list could go on & on.....
i just think to automatically list the woman as being selfish a bit unfair as there can be numerous reasons (many more than the few i've listed) why a couple could also choose the man to have the vasectomy done instead....
