D33 has some pretty good sources as well. It will be interesting to see how Ada responds. I heard they had given a verbal yes, but will wait to see that in writing. Not sure bluffton has any interest at this time.

Maybe someone should contact Dennis Martin to spearhead this!
No clue why anyone would support NB joining the BVC. They bring absolutely nothing to the table. I cannot remember one strong team they have had in years, not too mention the worst athletic facilities in the area (for now). May as well add a team from the NWCC if your liking NB. The idea isn't to cater to the Vanlue's and HN's...its to cater to the competitive teams like LB, McComb, ARlington and Leipsic.

Not Arlington, they are afraid of the competition that strengthing the league will bring. Did you read the article from a former coach, basically if we add more teams it is harder to win a league title, wow!!!!

I do believe that NB was not really one of interest from the BVC because of facilities. Also what do you mean cater to HN and Vanlues? Last I checked HN has decent facilities including a new gym.

I hope to hear that the BVC will expand...BUT doubt it happens. I think there will be more talk than action (kind of like Arcadia and Vanlue merging). There's too much "old school" attitude in the Hancock County schools. I'm really, really hoping for some progressive, forward thinking from the powers that be, but I'm not going to hold my breath.
I think that Riverdale is actually in a great position. They have to be considered a team that would certainly be included in an invite IF the BVC does expand. If not, they are on track to reunite with a group of schools that represents 70% of the old NCC. If Crestline bolts for the MBC, the N10 could end up getting Elgin, another former NCC school. I think the N10 will still be a better situation for us than what we're currently in, but the prospect of joining the BVC would be something we should jump at, if given the chance.
If the BVC is serious about any kind of expansion, the time is NOW...when so many teams are in limbo.

It's apparent the BVC is dead serious about expansion. From the AD/principal meetings to the OK from the superintendants to proceed with the inquiries of interest. Was there ever another time when this kind of effort was put forth from the BVC?? What will be interesting is whether just a few schools can shoot down the expansion plans that is clearly supported by the majority of BVC schools

That's an interesting way of doing things......do you think that makes it harder to get positive votes or do you think it won't matter since it will always be changing?

I guess what I'm trying to say is...If only 3 schools are against expansion, couldn't the other 7 go out on their own and bring in maybe 5 to 7 schools to make it a 12 to 14 team league? I am not suggesting that this is the best option, but wouldn't it still BE an option?
Is the public going to find out about the surrounding schools interest, and the BVC's intentions soon after the 16th? At what point should we expect to hear anything?

That said, schools can often get a lot of blow back from their bases on considered moves like this, so I would fully expect both Commissioner Butler and BVC to remain discreet. Doesn't help to create problems for schools that are seriously considering being a part of your conference.
As for the actual interview selection process, I believe the date for teams to come and present for the BVC is April 19th.

The proposal for expansion was designed for four additional teams. They just have to be the right fit for the BVC. Taking two teams as part of expansion is a second option.
