Does anyone think Snoddgrass (head Ohio official) will do anything about ST yelling vulgarities at the crowd during a game (it was even on the radio).
Refs are their to keep to peace and are suppose to act responsibly. I believe he should lose his license personally.

Mistake #1. Jerry Snodgrass is not the head Ohio official. Hank Zaborniak is OHSAA Commissioner in charge of all officials. Head of Basketball officiating is Denny Morris. A life-long friend of ST. Do you really think anything is going to happen to ST? Not a chance.

The worst that could happen to him is maybe a fine or an email. For a license to be revoked I assume it would involve criminal conduct, or fixing a game. Swearing isn't all that uncommon, it just becomes known when Trout does it.

Steve Trout only guy to ref Lebron one game at state tournament for 4 years. He is such a drama queen. Remember watching the McComb vs Continental regional final where it felt like he was reffing against Derrybury? the whole second quarter. Felt bad for the third official he never got to blow his whistle

Haha lets leave the names at Trout. We shouldn't be dragging other officials into this.

Fill me in on what you are talking about regarding him reffing LeBron's games at State.....
Trout reffed StV's state title game vs Roger Bacon. I know if no other time he reffed one of his games at State.

You would think that Denny Morris would get the hint after hearing complaints about him (Steve Trout) and his style of reffing for the past 5 or more years.....but really I think it's arrogance that allows him to keep assigning Steve Trout to games....

There is a certain group of officials from the Southern portion of the Lima area that always "show up" at the big games. If you ask me, they are OVER RATED.

I do know that the officials have a judging system that the AD's and the Coaches use after each game. I would really like to see if they actually use this to determine the assignments for the tournament games. My hunch is that they don't.

I see where Trout only reffed the 02 game with LeBron. It is worth mentioning Trout has a way of always getting the big state championship game. Coincidence he also had the OJ Mayo game in 2006?

What exactly did Trout say in that game to the fans?

You guys get on here and bitch and moan about Trout, Trout is arrogant but a pretty solid official. Derryberry and Oren are both good guys and do a fine job, at least when you have them, you know what kindof job you are going to get. Now if you want to talk about an official with NO clue....kevin Mangas. What a turd burgler.

I agree with maxwellsmart. Steve Trout may not have the best personality in the world, but he is a very good official. The thing that happens with Trout is that he continually gets the big games, and he is worthy of them, but in every big game one team is going to lose. In a tight game the fans remember that one call that he made that was controversial, and could have been correct, but cost their team the game. The losers always have Steve Trout to blame because he always has the biggest target on his back. League assigners, the Northwest District Board, and the OHSAA must all be wrong if he is officiating the big games and doesn't deserve them.

I'm sure that coaches have a list, (at least in the back of their minds) of refs that they dislike. I would think those initials would be near the top of the list.
IMO, No official is larger than the game.
