The one thing you can count on is the numbers to be high and working very hard.

Elida is in there 4th week and I have heard about 50 or so go after school and 10 before school. They have their first Max-out in two weeks I think.

Also to note that Carder for Wapak will not be playing for them next year, as he has moved back to Elida since he is ineligible.

The wild card is if a certain school who is known to draw ACADEMIC :sarcasm: motivated students to their school who happen to be very good football players :football: this could keep them on top. Five or six well placed kids in the lineup could seal the deal.

News to me then because my "source" came from the school itself. Guess we must just have to find out then I suppose.

It was the super that made the decision to make him sit the last week of the reg season and the playoffs due to the ohsaa saying they are going to rule him ineligible. his dad was ready to challenge the ohsaa yet again but the super said it would not matter as he had decided to not allow him to play. Carder is eligible according to his dad.

Makes sense now, thank you for the clear-up.

How can he go from Elida, to Wapak, and then back to Elida, and never miss a game?

By becoming a legal resident of Wapak, then becoming a legal resident of Elida. If a kid's parents are willing to do that to circumvent the punishment at Elida, then its legit.

Not sure I'd agree with that if it were my kid, but to each their own.

So he is for sure not going to play for Wapak next year? I would think he has a better chance at winning with Wapak and what Elida lost. I will ask him next time I talk to him.

Not so sure about that Beezer. I'll agree that Wapak should have a better regular season record next year, but being DII, they have a mighty tough road come playoff time.

Elida is going to be a lot better than people give them credit for next year. Remember, they made a nice run in the playoffs and every extra week of the season means those younger players get extra work and learning, which helps them prepare for the next season.

They have a stud LB and FS back and quite a few others as well. I would expect to see their good defensive players make some contributions on the offensive side of the ball.

Lets see how good of an offensive coach Carpenter is and how he uses the athletes that return next year. The WBL as a whole should be a down a bit from how good it was this year, so Elida could very well be a 6-8 win team again or even better if some guys step up.

OG would put that LB at fullback and knock the snot out of someone, with a great athlete at HB behind him.

A. Sumpter is pre-season #1 but if carder comes back he could.

Wapak had a tremendous year all around.
The only loss in the regular season was to Mauk's Kenton, state runners up.
The only loss in the post season was to Trotwood, state champions.

I didn't say Wapak wasn't a good team or didn't have a great season, I was refuting Beezer being so sure that Wapak will win more than Elida.

Win more games? Both won 10 last year. I think Wapak will win more regular season games under Frye, but with Trotwood in their region, their over/under on playoff wins is probably one.

Win the league? I'd agree a better chance with Wapak.

Win the region? I'll take Elida's chances - again not because Wapak isn't a great team but because Trotwood is ridiculous.

Carpenter being able to win without Reggie is the big question, but assuming he can and can keep getting the talent in the school to come out and play, they will be a factor in the league.

Not sure what point you were making, but please don't create a statement I didn't make, and try to debate it.

You made the point that Wapak should have a better regular season record next year.
All I said, was that Wapak only lost one regular season game.
Pretty tough to do better

I am by no means saying Wapak is going to beat Trotwood or anything as its to early so say, but with Wapak going and spending time with Lakota West this off-season, it shows that Frye is really gonna be determined to knock them off at sometime. I ultimatly believe that could be one of his top goals. Also to mention, I believe Wapak just hired his son Bo as a teacher in the school system.

Oh, I see.

We were discussing Wapak vs. Elida, and I predicted that Wapak would win more regular season games than Elida. But, that Elida might be able to make a deeper playoff run in DIII than Wapak in DII.

I wasn't suggesting that Wapak needed to improve on 9-1.
