This wouldn't surprise me. With his age and retirement for teachers changing soon you will see A LOT of teachers/coaches retiring. Those whose careers are on good terms and bad.

I heard last night he is out. His choice or the BOE choice?

He was forced out, after 4 parents called for him to be fired. He was brought in to the office and told he can either resign or be fired. One of the best coaches in pandora's history forced out on a whim. I wonder who will want to take over in any sport in pandora after one bad year they get fired.

Ken is a great guy with a passion for the game that is second to none . If this happens to be true..I wish him well . I believe the biggest issue here is that the game is changing and think he is just stuck in the past a bit . something that is easy to do when you have been coaching as long as he has been . He has had a great career and Im sure many great memories .

Coach Ken, Did a great job at PG, the BOE always thinks they will bring in new blood like a former player or former college player, but that usually does not work out, except for a few in the NW area. Coaching BB is not easy, but the pay is good, about 20 cents an hour. Good Luck PG.... Great job coach and have a great retirement......

I have always thought that Coach Brooks was a good coach with a passion for the game of basketball. His style and sideline manner grated on some, but overall the guy truly cared about doing the best job that he could. I know he put a lot of time and effort into the Pandora Gilboa girls basketball program. If Ken leaves, I believe PG girls basketball will go downhill.

Kind of like what happened to Joe Braidic after losing by ONE point to Miller City in the district final?

Depending on WHO they hire . There is someone already in the school district who has put numerous hours into the girls program in the last several years .Much of the success imo has been a result of this person . If P-G is looking to continue forward and improve its program ....I believe the program will continue to grow and get better if this person would be hired.

The situation with Joe was completely different . This is a completely different administration . Everything will be ok at P-G. The girls will continue to play basketball and Ken's golf game will improve .

I found this out last thursday when he announced it to his team, and one of his players told me. As usual, the scandalous P-G BOE has to make something happen  The "BOE" only does what's going to benefit them. All they do is suck up to the body building superintendent, but that's not the point. It is time for him to go. Brooks was a good person, on and off the court, even if he didn't look like it to the fans and referees :) . He was always there for his players and his students. He will be missed. Have a good retirement Mr. Brooks :thumbup1:

PS- Pandora-Gilboa needs to get rid of their members of the "BOE". I do understand why they decided this i guess but the members have pulled so many cheap things in the last couple years. The "BOE" is all men and one woman. The only reason some of those guys are on their are because they benefit some of the school's sports financially, *but only the sports their kids are in anyway*. One guy was just thrown on to the board because one member resigned. They also like to bash other sports because it takes numbers away from the sports they like. The people of the Riley expect the best and only the best. The community is great but very demanding.

Not really, both times parents drove the BOE into a bad decision. It doesn't help that some of the parents that force the changes are members on the booster club.

I was around the girls program a lot over the past few years (attending games and such) and i cannot think of who this would be. I was always under the impression that it was all Brooks.
