The Lady Green have probably won more games at the Elida Fieldhouse than Arlington has at home in the last 3-4 years combined. Think about that.

Personally I wouldn't say it being an upset. Just because one team is ranked 1 and the other 2 means nothing to me in high school. Really in any sports. Now if an unranked team beats a 1 or 2 rank, then ya there is your upset.

Arlington and Ottoville need to win Saturday night in order to play each other in the regional. But if regular season games mean anything, they both should win by 20+ points. Is there any chance these two power houses are looking past these mediocre PCL teams? What do you think the scores will be?
My predictions:

Arlington 62
Leipsic 35

Ottoville 53
Kalida 34

Classic "trap" game for both Ottoville and Arlington.

However - no way in Hades that Newlove lets this group overlook Leipsic and I am sure Ottovilles coach is the same.

As for the Elida comment...no clue what the heck that meant and could care less. I can tell you for sure, that I am not ashamed to use the "underdog" trump card in this one!

You guys are all nuts if you think Arlington would be an underdog against Ottoville. People they are beatable without question. Don't let the #1 ranking and undefeated record fool ya. They have been in a few games this season where they could've lost. So if these two teams would meet and Arlington wins, I would just feel the better team won. No upsets, because in my mind one team is just as good as the other.

As for the Elida comment Post, the only reason he said that is because Ottoville has had a lot of success at Elida during the regionals. For a while there, it was like their home away from home. But it doesn't mean a thing so don't get too worked up on that comment.

No question Ottoville and Arlington will have their hands full. Ottoville and Kalida are rivals. This game will be much closer than expected. Same with Arlington and Leipsic. I know neither team will over look these teams because it will be close. Throw out the regular season matchup because tournament is a whole new ball game. All this talk about these two teams meeting when they still have 1 game to be played is only asking for one team or both to lose before hand. A lot of talk about these two playing without them actually getting there yet.

When did Ottoville last play in a regional at the Elida Fieldhouse? 5-6 years ago?

O'ville has had success at Elida, earning 3-4 trips to the final four through Elida along with a few regional final losses. I think that is what the Elida thing came from. The last couple of years the regional was down south, but has moved back to Elida. I could be wrong, but pretty sure they have spent a good deal of time in the Fieldhouse.

Tournament isn't about beating every team, it's about beating the team in front of you that night. I've seen many, many quote/un-quote upsets over the years. That's what makes the playoffs fun because you have to earn it every game.

Absolutely right. They moved down to the Springfield regionals a few years ago and then before that it was Vandalida or something like that?

Ya probably around then only because they got moved to another regional 5 years ago and now are finally back in Elida this year for the first time in like 6 years

I bet ya the game will be closer than you expect bud. By the way happy belated birthday I don't believe I commented about that before. Anyways these two are bitter rivals and if Ottoville plays anywhere close to like they did against Jefferson it will be just as close as that game. I have been to a lot of Ottoville/Kalida sporting events and this game will be more intense than you think. Forget the regular season matchup, if this game is close I won't be surprised.

Keep in mind that Ottoville plays Elida in the regular season, and that in some years the district and regional were both at Elida.
