When will this supposed consolidation start happening? What schools do you think will be consolidated?

While the Ohio government has some ideas of consolidating school districts it will be several years before any of this comes to fruition most likely. Look how much resistance there has been to a few situations where this should have already occurred like Vanlue-Arcadia and Old Fort-Bettsville. The BVC cannot really factor that in yet.

Consolidation should have been mandatory before ANY state money was given to any school to build a new building.

Back to Football. Outside of the MAL schools and specifically H-L, which schools would most likely jump at the opportunitiy in the BVC? I'd say Riverdale for sure since there board has not yet OK'd the move to their new conference.

I think Carey makes more sense in BVC than Northern 10 too....Riverdale administrator basically said they would love to join BVC. Hopewell would see much more competition in football in BVC than MAL and I am sure NB would jump at BVC for travel and stability reasons as well. Those are the four I have heard mentioned most often and they seem to make sense.

You would think that would be the case with Carey, but they have a long, long history with what would be the N10 schools. Whatever is going to happen will need to happen fairly quick, although I guess the N10 isn't really a conference yet so I dount there would be any need for notice. To boot, the N10 only has eight school board approvals to date (Bucyrus and Riverdale have not gotten theirs) and I don't believe the charter paperwork has been completed.

My gut says Carey stays in the N10 (or N8), but if they wouldn't, would Seneca East and Mohawk then reverse course? I think both schools voted just 3-2 to leave the MAL.
Always a watchful eyes on those Tiffin Calvert Senecas, Marion Local Flyers, Fort Loramie Redskins , New Albany Eagles.

I guess it would better for A-town to have a D-5 L-B team out that they can't beat and a D-5 Riverdale team in that they can beat.

...or maybe Findlay-Liberty Benton should be thrown into the MAC, and shut them schools up about being so good! Even though they are pretty good!

I wouldn't say they "curb stomped" LCC. O'Connor threw for 5 TDs in the game. They exposed LCC for being a very poor tackling team though. But, the WBL? HA get real!! They would be the smallest school and would be lucky to be middle of the pack. They should stay where they are. It works for them and the other schools that they compete with aren't trying to boot them out like the NWC did to LCC.

Question for you. How many football BVC championships has LB won since 1974. Let me know what you find out. And oh by the way, check baseball too.

I went to the OSHAA website and copied the current enrollment figures over into an excel file. From there, I filtered out schools until I came up with this list of schools from the NCC, BVC, MAL, etc.I thought it was quite interesting once these were listed from largest to smallest. For example, if L-B were in the NCC, they would only the 5th largest school. How would H-N, Vanlue, and others in the BVC like to play against schools with over 400 students in the top 3 grades (basically what these enrollment figures represent)? I put conference affiliation (both current and proposed) in the far right column. I thought it might be interesting to a few of you out there that feel like the BVC is the only league with disparity in school size.
