I don't know if everyone that is posting on here is IN or FROM northwest Ohio...if you are, get out and experience the rest of the soccer world.
These "suggestions" are absolutely absurd. I am done wasting my time replying to ludicrousness.

Sorry, just keep it the way you like it....
0-0 ties are great!!!!
Keep filling the stands. That is if the parents even care to come?

Yes, even though volleyball has no ties, the attendance stinks. Maybe the nets should be lowered?
HS baseball/softball games aren't well attended. Perhaps brining the fences? Shortening the bases will fill the stands? Eliminating the strikeout?
Keep playing in the theater of the absurd.

All bow down to the great all-knowing world traveler OSH. Sorry we are not up to your level of soccer intelligence.

What we have is better than anything you have proposed, if that's what you are saying...I agree.
One reason we are a "laughing stock" of soccer is because we continue try to "Americanize" things. That's why high school soccer is where it is. The OHSAA and NFHS (and other state associations) make it a joke with their "Americanizing" of it. It is stupid. There is NO need to change the game.
Heck, even basketball is routinely "Americanized." How many different rules and regulations can we have in the US? It's different from high school, to college, to pro. It's different from high school to AAU. It's different from what we do in the US to what the rest of the world does. That is so dumb.

At least you see it my way...

But seriously...it's not intelligence. It's simply saying, "these are the laws of the game that are in place...use them and that is the game." If you want a game that is similar to soccer that doesn't have draws, flopping, etc. Go create that game. Like I said above, it is the game of soccer. The laws of the game are in place for the game (as a whole). Why must we continue changing things as Americans or even in a regional setting in the US?
The rest of the country plays by the same high school rules. You go to Columbus and tell DeSales of your "rule changes" and you will get laughed at. People who know and understand the game don't want these ludicrous rules. It makes no sense.
The kids aren't playing to get hundreds of people in the stands. Kids will continue to play if NO ONE is in the stands. And you know what...they'll continue working hard, having fun, and competing regardless. If you don't like it...don't watch. It's about the kids...not the spectators. The spectators will be there and enjoy it for what it is...joga bonito.

I think we are genrally in aggreement OSH. Yeah I'd like to do away with ties. But otherwise, I think you got my point starting back with the unneccesary uniform color change. Everything else can be settled with better referee education/traing/fitness.
z out, judging from your username, I am guessing you are an uneducated football moron. Which I will say, soccer is much more interesting to watch than about 70% all HS football games. 4 second play, stand in the huddle for 35, 4 second play, stand around for 35....ZZZ ZZZ ZZZ. Now I get your username and I agree!!!

No one cares if you don't like soccer. Which makes me wonder why you are even in this forum? Go preach to people who actually care what you have to say about the sport because the ones that do care about soccer, don't want to hear your nonsense. I'm not much of baseball fan, so you know what I do. I stay away from baseball forums.

Oh will they? Because if Ottoville/FJ ever consolidate I bet you there would still be soccer.
Sorry to disappoint but soccer is not going anywhere. So continue taking your shots because in the end it won't change anything.

Yeah, G2g, it seems we are on the same page.
I guess I never addressed it, but I do think that there should be an extratime/overtime format for high school games. I have no problems with that. It'd be nice since EVERY other major competitive league has some form of extratime/overtime.
It could be golden goal. It could be a set time. It doesn't matter. I would be in favor of high school associations adopting that change. The biggest problem could be playing in the dark...I am sure there are MANY teams that don't have lights.

Exactly. The problem of wanting overtime during the regular season would be the the extensions of the game and therefore could cause a problem to the schools who don't have lights. The only scenario I would have is go right into penalty kick shootouts. But I'm not a real fan of that. I think soccer is played the way it should be and no reason to make any changes. Ties happen all around us not just in sports. No one likes to lose or even tie. But it is part of the game and those out there that dislike it need to accept it.

Unrelated but this has been long over due for Bluffton. (increasing the size of the pitch is the next needed step)

They might be able to schedule some games against JV squads. But to pick up some against varsity squads might not happen. No team in the PCL will wanna play them unless its a JV team perhaps. Other than that I'm sure they can pick up some games against other club teams that are around.

The OHSAA does not allow "club" high school teams to play against sanctioned teams as "regular season contests."
So, they can technically play the high school teams in exhibitions and that's all. Arlington does have a high school club team, so they could play them. That's all that I know in this area, but I am sure there are a couple more.
