Rocketman And Flounder's High School Rankings......Feb. 12
#1
Posted 12 February 2012 - 11:15 AM
Some very subtle changes in my polls as I have fine tuned these rankings.......I really think this is my best edition yet, which is how it should be approaching the final games of the regular season.....I usually do not bring up certain games that take place, but the game that Rocketman and Flounder took in last night had all the excitement of a tournament game.....the Blue Jays and the Big Green put on quite a show last night in Ottoville....I am sure both teams learned alot from this game, and that this game mentally prepared both teams for the upcoming tournament.....congrats to both teams on a very exciting game.....I hope they meet again...
Oh, by the way.....did anyone happen to notice that Flounder was right on when he predicted that Midpark would have their hands full with Hathaway Brown.....well, guess what....they had more than their hands full as Hathaway Brown opened a can of you know what on Midpark......52-38 was the final....I would like our most ardent readers to go back to Rocketman and Flounder's 1/22 Rankings and read a few posts......most notably from 'wadschick' and my beloved little friend 'Ricky Roe'.......and they bring up research and no credibility.......lol....Rocketman and Flounder Do Know Girls High School Basketball.....
Well, on to my rankings.....please stop by the Varsity Club during the state tournament for our annual awards presentation.......it is always a good time, and we promise not to disappoint......as always, unlike the AP pollsters, we welcome all comments so please drop us a post.......I hope our readers have enjoyed the quality polls that Rocketman and Flounder brought you this past season!!!!!!

Please explain why Versailles is in your D3 rankings? Is D3 THAT weak?

now after 10 years we have proven our mettle in the court of public opinion.......87% of all knowledgeable basketball fans
believe that our rankings far exceed those of the AP.......74% agree that our rankings are much better than any other sports
website in the Ohio area....
Next week will be the last rankings of the year and we will crown our champions for the 10th consecutive year.......in the
previous 9 seasons (36 total state champs) over 96% of the teams listed in our final rankings have went on to win a title...I
challenge any other medium to even come close to those exemplary results......Again, we want to continue to thank all of our
loyal readers and especially those who have felt the need to help us "meet expenses".......RM

I have Vesailles listed in my others......not my top 10......year in and year out Versailles traditionally does well in the tournament.....it's not like they are 4-16.......don't ever count them out....also....they play in the MAC!!!!!!

however, they wouldn't meet until much later.........maybe even state?
St. Peter's must play at least to the 90% level to advance past district........Ottoville will need to strap it up every night after sectionals.....
if they would play tomorrow on a neutral court........

By the way, we know we have our hands full in Districts with Holgate and then possibly Miller City.

You are right about them traditionally being a strong team year in and year out, and no it doesn't hurt that they also compete well in the mighty MAC. I'm just one of those people like Coach who also has to deal with seeing teams in the WBL (D2) and most of the MAC (D4) having to grind it out just to get out of sectionals. Where as Versailles toughest out may be Miami east? Which would be their third game in? And besides them being in the MAC...what non-conference teams have they beaten to give them the recognition they deserve over other good teams in D3.
In no way am I trying to say your rankings are not credible by just one team ha! I am just curious. I may be a fairly new member to this site but I have followed both of your rankings religiously week by week, year in and year out ever since you two started this. Please dont feel like I'm trying to disrespect you two with one question or concern.
