Typo? An 'n' is a stroke of the right hand and a 'd' is a stroke of the left hand. 'Unbeatem' is a typo. 'Unbeten' is a typo.

Could care less about spelling, but creating a word detracts from your argument. Thanks for the correction.

You could care less about spelling but yet you point out a spelling error? I am not exactly sure what your point is. I simply missed a few letters without knowing and I am SO SORRY dkusma to make your life such a tragedy. Just to let you know this is just a forum. We as people make mistakes, some of us catch them, yet some of us don't. But its getting to be annoying when you point out every single spelling error or in your words a word that detracts from an argument. If you don't understand something then don't respond. Rocketman, we need spell check on here otherwise dkusma is going to lose himself.

But anyways I know this may trigger some people but does anyone think Edgerton might be a little overrated? To me it doesnt seem like they have played a great schedule to convince me that their undefeated record is legit. But I was just wondering what some think about this.

Hmmm...I seem to remember saying the same thing about a certain team in another sport and you getting your panties in a knot. Glad you see things my way.

I could definitely see Edgerton with an early exit....but until it happens or they at least lose a game I can't call them overrated. They've done everything they've been asked to so far. March is huge for them.

Sorry I'm not seeing things your way, hardly do I ever to be honest. But I never said anything about Edgerton being overrated. I just asked if anyone else thought they were. I don't know much about them. I have not seen them play this year and just because you do watch a team play, does not make you an expert about them. It only gives you the opportunity to say that you have and make whatever opinion you have of them.

It appears that you did just that.

I think Edgerton has a strong shot at the regionals, and maybe even state. The schedule may be nothing great, but it handled a pretty solid DSJ team, and unlike football, the GMC has been historically legit in basketball. Although, Edgerton isn't one of those schools that has been a state tournament threat in the past. #3 in the state may be a bit high but I think some people might be writing off Edgerton too quickly.

I have never been impressed with teams from that region....ie Hicksville, Edgerton, Edon, Hilltop......but this year's Edgerton is legit...as Mr Teddy Malone said......don't write them off!!!!

If Ryan Aelker does not miss 10-15 bunny shots in the first half against Edgerton Holgate easily beats them. That will be the District Final game in D-4 at Napoleon this year.

If, if, if, if, if, if, if!

Basketball is a game of "ifs". Unfortunately, the "ifs" don't put points on the board.

You get to the NEXT level only by being successful at the CURRENT one. Play today's game first, enjoy the victory, then and only then, look ahead!

Holgate and Edgerton are in the same sectional this year at Paulding. So I guess your matchup may come earlier!

If the teams draw/seed into the opposite side of the sectional bracket, then they will meet in the district final if they both win out.

Thats true, I didnt think about that. It's a seven team sectional so it could get a little funky

Back to 2000 when a village with 432 people in it Fort Jennings won state? DSJ is always one of the biggest schools in D4 and is pulling from a city of 7,000 naturally they will have more success or we wouldn't break our divisions down by enrollment. To come on here and try to act like PCL isn't a good conference is ludicrous especially when your school has done nothing to brag in over a decade.

dw......

Size hardly matters when it is broke down in divisions.....heck, if everything in sports went by size of school, we would have 50 state champs.....how much fun would that be.......also, since when does the last 12 years determine how much success a team has.......and remember...I did not bring up DSJ in this topic, but feel it necessary to respond when some chump tries to downplay the success of DSJ!!!!!!!!

I've not read but the last few responses. Knowing this... I would like to point out that Columbus Grove has 121 boys...the cutoff was 122 boys this year. I think they are the largest, or darn near largest DIV IV team in Ohio. As a PCL team with the most (darn close) recent success in basketball...they have a competitive advantage in DIV IV.

I'm not saying I agree or disagree with the argument...I'm just pointing out for at least one member of the PCL...the numbers are in their favor. In basketball...2 more boys for Grove probably means they go to the Elida District where you typically see LCC, Ottawa, a damn good MAC team EVERY year. I'd make an opinion, just for Grove...that it is in their best interest to start booting boys if it looks like they are going to grow any more. They have a much more consistent chance at regionals where they are.

As for Delphos...some day I'll go back and research how that works. I'm not 100%...but I'm pretty sure for years Jefferson had to count every Future Farmer Program kid from St. John's toward their total, even though those kids were not eligible to play sports for Jefferson. Again I'm not 100%...but I seem to recall some discussion about how Jefferson was in the wrong class for years. I believe the numbers are correct now though.

Delphos is unique in that it has a relativity self-sufficient public and private school in a small community. Is there any comparable sized community in the State that shares this phenomenon? In NW Ohio? My opinion is that if both schools were merged into one...we would be a damn good DIV I or II sports community. I could argue for pages on this subject, but suffice to say that I'm of the opinion that there are some advantages, and disadvantages to having two schools in such a relatively small community. I'd almost argue that the split lessens both school's competitiveness from a pure athletic perspective.
I've missed more than 9,000 shots in my career. I've lost almost 300 games. 26 times, I've been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I've failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed.

I can truly say that at least for this school year, DSJ fans are not lamenting the fact that we are missing out on any DJ football or basketball prospects. To answer your question about other towns with a similar situation, I would say Tiffin and Fremont have both types of schools and seem to be doing just fine. Fostoria also does but St. W is very small.
