Arlington exposes another overrated team. First, they waxed Arcadia. Arcadia was so upset with the loss. They couldn't defeat Mohawk in their next game. New Reigel gets trounced by Arlington on Tuesday. Friday, they still have a hangover from the loss and Tiffin Calvert defeats them. The FDA should put a warning label on Arlington. They are hazardous to your health.

Now this is good reading material!

Give it time, like I said before Arlington will run into a brick wall when district finals/regional semis come around.

So, who knocks Arlington out of the tournament before Ottoville gets their victory in the regional semi-final. Leipsic, Miller City, or North Baltimore.

well i don't think they will lose in the district finals, but if they do it won't surprise me. Miller City is my prediction who they will face in the district finals. They are very inconsistent though. They play well with any team out there but other games they will just struggle so who knows what happens in tournament

Does Delphos St. John or Convoy Crestview have a chance to derail Ottoville before they would meet Arlington? On the Ottoville regular season games that are left, Does Minster or Delphos St. John have a chance of spoiling Ottoville's perfect season?

sounds like the brick wall had some issues with a very average Leipsic team.

I just found the score Ottoville 57 Leipsic 45. Ottoville moves to 17-0 and Leipsic 10-7 on the year. I don't think they will be a threat to Arlington. Maybe Ottoville and Arlington will meet in the regional semi-final. The winner will get the New Riegel/Arcadia/Stryker winner for the regional title.

Ya they had another game where they may have struggled but you will have that as a #1 team. the pressure and all. But no game is easy every team has that "bad game" or two. Arlington struggled with Liberty Benton who I thought was a pretty good team until they got waxed by Lima Bath

Looks like Leipsic may have exposed a weakness in the Lady Green armor. I heard the guard play of Ottoville looked very beatable. The Devils may just use that to their advantage. Two great teams with great coaches. Hopefully they will play each other and the winner goes to Columbus and represents NW Ohio well.

Until proven different...Ottoville is the team to beat in the tourney. If there is a team that can beat them it will be Arlington due to defensive pressure. This team is better than last year's team by far defensively. Arlington has to take care of business, however, and get there first. If these two teams lock up - it would certainly be the pairing everyone would want to see.

What stinks is that you have the other side of the bracket which consists of teams that are not worthy of a Regional appearance, let alone a Regional Final spot - same thing happened last year - the best two teams played in semis. That's life though...

Looking forward to tourneys for sure.

So a team loses one game to a D-2 school who is just more talented and they are not a pretty good team?

Crestview no, Delphos St Johns or Jefferson possibly. Always a good game between either one of them. Anybody can beat anybody on a given night. I think Arlington has a lot easier path to regionals from here on out compared to Ottoville. So always a chance Ottoville can get knocked off before then.

The way I am seeing it is this. Ottoville was ranked #1 a few years ago and had looked like they were going to be a tough team to beat and they were. Just like every other team they had flaws too and then made it to regional semis and got beat by a good Fort Loramie team. This year is starting to show a little deja vu. Being ranked #1 and seems like they are the team that will be tough to beat again. Do they have flaws? Yes but not many as the last time they were #1. I think they are a better team but again I got a strong feeling that they could fall in districts or regionals. Only time will tell though. Arlington has a good team this year as well but we will know more about these teams when it comes tournament time. Good luck to them both

Wow! Spend a few days away and I miss alot of conversations. After seeing Ottoville last night, I was surprised we stayed as close as we did and actually had a few possesions in the 3rd qtr where we could have gone ahead. I assumed that number one would blow us away. We did play a pretty good game, but I don't know if they had an off night or what, A very nice team with multiple weapons, but I did not come away intimidated by them. Arcadia has a nice team also, I hope the Glick girl is/was not injured to severely and comes back soon. Anyone know what extent her injury against Arlington was? Miranda Palmer is first team material. Arlington has a very nice team. Good defensive team. Yes, Reamsnyder covers like expensive paint. Recker girls have complete games, Amelia a bit more than Alivia. LB? Craft makes the whole team better because you have to account for her all over the floor, she can drive to the basket and if you overplay that she will kick it to someone spotted up at the three point line. They did that against us repeatedly. Craft also will nail the 3 ball if you play loose off her to stop the penetration.
For what its worth, I feel Craft is POY with both Reckers, Palmer, and who knows for first team BVC. I don't know for sure the matchups but I don't see Arlington losing early in the tournament. It would be a great matchup to see them play Ottoville in Regionals.
Miller City also has a decent team, but after our game with them it was like "Wow, how did they beat us that bad?" Again, nice team. I haven't seen any teams outside of who Leipsic has played so I can't comment on them.
Tournament draws were today, so good luck to all teams (more to Lady Vikes).

That's pretty dead on, IMO. Fifth spot on the first team seems wide open. HN's Hipsher? Hovest from P-G? Leipsic's Gerten? Myers from L-B? It will be interesting to see who gets it.

I'll take Gerten over Hipsher or Hovest. Emily had some very good games. Myers is a good shooter.

So back on the topic. Looking ahead for Arlington. They won't lose a game the rest of the season. As far as their tournament run is concerned. No team matches up with them until district finals which I predict them to face Miller City. But should still beat them by double digits. Arlington has a strong team this year and what's going to help them is defense and running up/down the floor. This is the year they go to state in my opinion.

Post- Calling for BVC coplayer of the year? Craft has been way more valuable to her team. She has a led a team that starts 2 sophs and a freshman along with another senior. Hopefully with a win Thursday over the "skins" will have an undefeated league schedule. If your going by milestones she passed the 1000 pt barrier last season so probs has more points than Recker career wise. Do agree the stats are close for these two fine athletes this year. Just feel Craft has had to deal with more and been very successful this year!!
