I agree the bleachers in the Bath gym are dangerous, but overall I really like the gym. It does not need replaced. It just needs new bleachers. I like the space between the floor and the bleachers. I'm guessing it seats around 2300. While the Defiance gym has some character with the seats behind the basket, and a very nice playing floor, it was outdated the day they builit it. It seats around 2,200. It is hard to believe that Napoleon's gym is only one year newer than Defiance's.

For whatever reason, these boys have dramatically improved over the course of the season. Cole Chambers has come back from injury and is a beast. Colin Gossard has stepped it up as well. They beat VW last night because they were deeper and did not get tired in the end because of WV's fast paced offense.

I was impressed with the Cats win over the Cougars last night. In my opinion this is a signature victory for Coach Davis and his team and could really propel them to the next level as the season progresses. I wonder when the last time Bath beat Van Wert in basketball, it probably has been a while.

Bath played a great game last night! They have had several injuries throughout the season and the boys have done a great job of stepping up. They worked their butts off last night and it definately payed off!!!

If you remember correctly, I never doubted the ability of the players! I have all the confidence in the players. I don't believe the win was due to Bath having a great coach. They have a lot of talent and play well together. These boys play better in a fast pace game. They stepped up and did a great job. Period!

Believe what you want. I have seen a lot of games in that gym that were lost because of bad decisions. All i'm saying is give credit where credit is due. Bath has a lot of talent. There are 8 solid players on that team that could go far. Those boys played their game and came out on top. There is alot more to coaching than making a few good play calls. Those kids have also worked hard in the off season so be careful about who you say has developed their skills!

I think the main reason they are doing better is that more of these boys and their parents are putting more time into it in the off season. This obviously helps Davis, (Like it would any coach) just as it hurts him and makes him look bad in years that they don't. Guys like Darrell Gossard and Brian Best put a lot of time into those boys when they were younger.

Some coaches teach when kids get to the varsity level, and some expect them to be fully cooked.

excluding the lcc win in the tip off, which i think was an anomoly that will be validated this saturday, teams that bath have beaten are a combined (including a win this friday against shawnee) will be 52-74. 3 teams bath has beaten have a good winning record, while sidney lehman (div. 4) is 7-6. on the opposite side teams that bath have lost to is a combined 31-5. bath's schedule get tougher after this weekend. I see them winning 2 of their last 6 after this weekend for a total record of 12-8. I agree that the van wert game was a signature win in the davis tenure, but how long did it take him to get one that is worth putting on a resume. depending on the tourney draw, i see a one win and done scenario. which is not very much different than last year and the previous 3-4 years.

realist is more like it. what makes this team any different than the past 4-5 years? a dumbed down schedule to show some wins against the likes of bluffton , AE, perry and the like. i just dont see why all the excitment. history shows just the opposite.

however, i will try and be more positive and fit into the mold of everyone that thinks this club is special.

reluctantly!

Remove the dash, save a few years in the mid-90's, at Bath it's been pretty much the same scenario the past 34 years..

oops! my bad - you are right. I havent been to a boys game since 1996 when they had a legit 10 player rotation, but couldnt get by OG. that was an awesome team and played some legit competition.

Just a little dig at Bath boys basketball. In all honesty, I think Coach Davis and his team have a nice mix of size and shooting ability as well as balanced scoring. I can see this team getting out of sectionals, and after that who knows..........but the wildcats are playing well now. The LCC game Sat. will be a good test.
