Bath should be decent - placed 2nd at a tough Indian Lake tournament last weekend to Indian Lake.

Surprised??? Bath is very good. Do you know about Celina, Wapak, Elida, Coldwater? Traditionally tough schools as well.

The facts are very apparent and should be obvious to anyone who was present in Sidney this past weekend. Wapak beat Bath handedly and should take it to them again at the WBL's in Van Wert.

The Wapak team is stacked and will beat Bath head to head by at least 20 points. Bath has some bright spots but they are just not the team that they have been in the past.

Good Luck to all wrestlers, but it is hard for me to stand back and have Bath ranked higher than Wapak when they lost to them this past weekend by approximately 30 points.

The Sidney meet was structured as a tournament style meet and doesn't represent how things will necessary go head to head. Bath also had two wrestlers in the lower classes not wrestling. Wapak was very good but in a head to head I believe it will come down to a one or two match diference either way. Both programs have always had good biddy programs along with Elida, Shawnee and Delphos.

I think Bath wins head to head by 12. We will see Wednesday. How does Van Wert determine the pools? Could we see Bath, Elida, and Wapak in the same pool?

Don't forget about Shawnee, not sure how many of there kids are back from last year. They have a few that are very strong. I would guess Bath, Elida, Wapak and Shawnee with be split two and two. Bath should have the 172 lb class filled with a good wrestler so it isn't a void now. I see Bath winning WBL in a close one as long as everyone is back and healthy unlike at Sidney.

Defiance came out of no where from last year. They had alot of good wrestlers in the lower classes that seemed to dominate.

Does Defiance wrestle Indian Lake? That would be a good dual. I think Indian Lake wins but comes to last match.

My updated rankings:

1. Indian Lake
2. Defiance
3. Bath or Wapak
4. Bath or Wapak
5. Elida

Half way through the season, who are the best wrestlers in the different weight classes? Any state contenders from the area?

1. Indian lake
2. Wapak/Defiance ( i would like to see another dual, wapak has filled all voids and is wrestling strong )
3.Wapak/Defiance
4.Bath
5. Elida

My understanding was that bath was missing 5 starters due to injury. Most will be back at least one is out for the season

As a member our wrestling community, we were not missing 5 starters. We were missing 2. Wapak dominated us in the lower classes and we dominated the upper. I am not sure if the outcome would have been different. I think the score would have been closer, but they are too strong at the lower weights for us. The 98 kid for Wapak is solid. I watched him beat Hunter Lucas from Shawnee up at Van Wert.
It was a well run tournament and some good competition. What does Wapak have left? I heard people talking about their schedule and traveling over two hours away?

We had one kid get hurt during the Wapak match but was losing at the time and one kid got hurt earlier in the day and didn't wrestle the wapak match and we did have one void because of that. We had two kids hurt coming into the day. If there was a fifth I can't remember who it would of been. Full team might of made it closer but Wapak still would of won and the score may have not been any different. They are very good at the lower weights.

I know Elida has two more matches I believe. My opinion Defiance will be very tough to beat. I say they will win.
