Tarmac,
I haven't heard of the 8-10 applicants.........I also don't believe that Smith would leave a good situation at Jefferson to take over a program
that has been a revolving door since the eldest McGlauthlin left a number of years ago........
I still keep hearing of a young pup who has applied.........Flounder and I are on our way back from Cincy right now and I will delve more deeply
into some of what I know to be true and some of what I'm still in a flux over.........
No VonSossan
No Smith
No Sweet
No Maag
No Homier
No Welch
No Adams
No Lammers
The administration is meeting today/tonight before maybe bringing back 2 applicants tomorrow for a second interview.........I have 2 ex-Vikings making
the drive to the City to stake out the school..........other than the Sportsman's Club and the Palmer Twp. house there isn't really any other place
they could meet other than the school that fronts the old Forster dump.......I've given them a few bucks for gas and asked them to just cruise around
if nothing materializes at MCHS...........thanks RM

The incoming freshman class is also very good. This is a good job for an incoming coach.

MC Guy, Come on you know who it is, give us the scoop. Have great sports weekend. Is that Kenny Vennekotter's grandson?

KJ has made his decision by now (no matter what anyone hears, it was his to make)
and it has come to 2 people.........
I hope that he or the AD doesn't visit the RC until at least Monday so that they won't
be able to change their mind on their #1 choice........
This will be the biggest decision that either of these two gentlemen makes in their
foreseeable future.........the wrong choice will mean the 5th head coaching change in the last
10-12 years......
with the Wildcats storied past and the expectations for the future this one had better be
Mr. Right......the Mac's crowd and the new Clubbers crowd will be watching this
selection with a lot of interest..........the AD will be under extreme scrutiny (not so much the principal)
to make the recommendation for the next coach........
I still have this gut feeling that it will be someone who has no varsity head coaching experience.......
I still believe that the person selected will have limited, if any JV head coaching experience......
this is a very tough call and one I'm not ready to make just right yet........
we've been very good in our intelligence gathering for the Ottoville, CG, OG, and other head
jobs the past few months..........we were the first to break all of those stories and I really
feel that we will be the first to divulge the next MC coach........
I am heading back to the City tonight to see if I can extract any more info out of the locals
before calling one of the BOE members later tonight or tomorrow.........
I WILL be going out on the limb by tomorrow night and if any of the other media
sources are watching.............stay tuned

Curtis Brown would be someone that would work out for MC. He knows the folks in MC and probably would stay in the system for a long time. Yes he is young, but it seems that kids perform better if they know a coach will be a round for awhile. Bring someone in for a year or so will bring the program down.
My vote is on Curtis!

of the candidates will not have to change his "school colors" much (OK, maybe just a shade here or there)
and the other will have a lot of backing from the

Kurtis would fit one of the criteria that I mentioned above concerning "school colors"

It is now Sunday afternoon and I am heading deep into the bowels of Miller City land
for one last crack at this.........
I believe that it is down to 3........
Kurtis, my main man.......only chance is if no other applicants deemed worthy
Matt Webb........dark horse, but has the school color thing going for him, in addition to being a young pup
and fits the profile of no head coaching experience, JV or Freshman coach, and comes highly recommended....
those are the 3 I'm hanging my hat on, with Braidic being something of a question mark........I'm out the door
and zooming my way down SR 613...........stay tuned RM

I have made an update to the above post
I am still over in the land of Milk & Honey but I have to head home pretty soon......
if anyone wants to email me with any news, please do
eltonjohnisrocketman@yahoo.com......I will keep your identity safe from the wrath
of the AD and will send out your RC logo Tshirt ASAP.......thanks RM

2 customers at Mac's and about a dozen rowdies at the Buckeye Club celebrating the huge USA
women's soccer win vs. Brazil earlier today.......the owner had authorized $1.00 beers and $1.00
shots of Jager

I need to make a few more phone calls yet tonight.........I'm still hoping that the pressure of
keeping this humongous secret off the RC will lead someone to crack

by the AD......have also noticed a few members have seemed to have quite a bit of interest on this
thread so I hope that they aren't holding any news back from the rest of us

KJ has not left his home all weekend for fear of letting something slip.......
the superintendent spent the weekend at the family cottage in Indiana......
the AD spent the weekend making sure that the Navy's mantra of "loose lips sinks ships"
is adhered to.......I will say this, he has done a fine job of keeping the traditional leaks to a bare
minimum.......
still expecting some news from my western sources as they might get someone in Delphos
to talk.........the usual Elida contacts have come up with little to add.....
still holding out hope that we can break this story before 6pm tomorrow..........thanks RM
