I am not sure we could handle a Slicer App!!!

Slice....do not, under any circumstances buy a phone (especially something as advanced as a Droid) from Walmart. Walmart has cut deals with Verizon that even the Verizon stores (and other dealers) can't match which is why they can offer the prices that they do. Verizon stores (or dealers) are not required to help you in any way if you purchased you phone from Walmart.....and you will find out real quick that the Walmart employees will have no idea how to help you. They don't take the required training that Verizon stores or dealers go thru. You'll regret the decision forever.

I won't go into detail here, but, we have very close relations with local verizon dealership(s) & am quite certain i'd be taken care of~ no matter the problem i may encounter.....i WOULD NOT under normal circumstances purchase a phone from anywhere else but Radio Hospital, but, sometimes, times are rough.......

anyway...... i haven't made my mind up about this (as far as where i'll actually be purchasing my phone) , but, because of my feeling of gratitude & loyalty, I'm pretty sure it'll still be Radio Hospital. (no matter the cost/savings!)

I was looking into upgrading mine to the droid 2 'cause Walmart has it for 10.00!!!!! I know.....they're up to the droid 5 now, but, for 10 bucks, i was gonna get it...... problem: i still have almost 'nuther year on my currect contract.

BUT! I will be getting a REAL smart phone then....shoulda just done it when i was debating this one...... shoulda known i wouldn't have been satisfied with less....
*when i do, it will not be an iphone, though.

I'm not sure what you meant... but, if you're talking about me being 'technologically inclined' , again.... you need to get off those meds!!



haha!! i have a web-abled phone (a.k.a 'dumb phone') , but, it's not a 'smart phone'~~i've been informed (Thanks obie!!! <-----my mobile technician!!! )
I'm still not sure what the difference is in mine (enVTouch) & the 'real' smartphones ...although, i do think the name of mine aided in my decision though. :.. lol.....
i just know i want one 'cause right now i can access the web , but, i find it pert near impossible to post if i have someting i want to post from my phone when i can't access my PC.(RC specifically) <-----which will certainly be cause for a petition against my getting a smart phone, or at least against the RC getting an app that my phone could possibly access where i could talk even more here than i do now.....lol

also, RM....it was just pointed out to me recently by an old school buddy of mine how my interest/history has never really favored the 'younger men' ....(to his dismay) ....... just sayin'

Slicer - I got a dumb phone too. But I'm too tight (I squeak when I walk) to spend the jack to get me a newer one. I always go for the freebies. Contract w/At&T not up till December till we can get us new phones. Then my sons tell me "dad you have to buy a data plan too"... I'm just getting the whole "texting" thing down.... Maybe try the "sexting" on the missus soon!

the RC is planning on upgrading the site this summer with some new features that will enable members to interact easier on the site.........according to our Internet provider about 7% of the traffic generated here
on the 'Corner is through Blackberrys, Droids, Iphones, etc.........(I would attribute this to some schools blocking the RC while accessing school's internet ).......

we need to keep up with what our members are looking for so the next logical step is the first-ever RC app......
there will be other features that will follow also...........by next football season we should really be ready to rock..........zooooom

So does this mean that ALL the Varsity Coaches and Sports Writers will be given the FREE Sideline/Court-Side Live Access app so they can get/give updates during the whole game... and not just during the last four minutes of the 4th quarter?

I would be all for an app on here. I have a Droid X (and Ipod Touch) and an app would probably bring in more members. Slice, you are killing me!!!

On a totally different note:

The Lima Warriors are having a chicken barbecue at the corner of Cole and Elida this Saturday from 11a-4p. 7 bucks for a chicken dinner with several sides. Sweet Caroline's is doing the cooking. The proceeds help the fund the two time national champion Warriors with season expenses. So please come on out and support the team and get something good to eat as well.

IMO these cell phone plans are starting to get rather pricey... You got your monthly plans for 2, 3 or 4 phones, next tack on some texting or sexting minutes I prefer to call them to missus totallytiger. Next toss on a data plan for any of the phones.. Holy crap-a-moley

I'm sorry I don't need all this in addition to my home internet service. But maybe at some point I just need to shut off the home phone service entirely and that would include my ISP for the family laptop... That would save me about $50-60 per month.
