I guess he just retired after no one would sign him last year.

I know he retired, With his personality when he played the game you would think he would be in the limelight somewhere.

I don't know, but when the steroid thing got big he seemed to disapear. I think after the corked bat, he just never had the same ammount of fans.

I agree about that...after the cork bat incident then streoid use came into play you never heard anything about him....he is being smart by keeping his name on the low....But I did hear a couple of months ago he was training again to be ready for next year signings...it had something to do with his back is why but heard nothing since then...

Plain and simple Sosa`s bat slowed down. His age caught up with him and he`s finished. Years ago players were said to be on the down swing of their careers after the age of 32. In this age and time it`s been proven that after 32 there`s a lot of life in a lot of players. I don`t think it was the roids or anything else that ended Sammy`s career other than father time.

i wouldn't take him on my team, too old, too controversial, too much unwanted negative attention (possibly), too much roids, too much cork, too done...... IMO

But I think there could be an upside for a bad team....maybe bring a few fans in and if he is in better shape and can still play ball then you might get a plus

who really cares about sammy sosa?? honestly??? ok he ever since he got caught with the cork in his bat nobody has really seen him. i also think that sometime in his life he used steroids. anyone else think the same way i do??? and since we are talking about players disappearing why dont we ask ourselves where rafeal palmero went?? i havent heard too much about him since he got caught with steroids. what are your thoughts on that??

either way, as you will notice, when they are suspected or accused of using steroids, they either fight it and then evidence shows up that they did; and they're looked down upon; or, they just disappear ; and they're looked down upon.....either way, you take the roids- you lose (doesn't work as well as the Big Daddy saying "you drink the boos, ya lose)....lol tongue.gif

Exactly, I think he is done. Anyone who saw what he did with the O's has to agree.

The only reason he want to come back is for personal stats. He is 12 Home Runs shy of 600 for his career and thats all he wants.
