Don't think for one minute I am backing off my assesment of him........
I will say he is playing better than I expected, but I am still not sold on him.
He has 3 studs running along with him, D-Light, WB & Sully.....and Diesel when he is in the game.

At the time, I figured a lot of Victorian's expert commentary would come back to haunt him, but never went to the trouble of going back over the thread to hunt for the true gems. Thanks for this little trip down memory lane. laugh.gif

I like his comment on "defensive liability"........Hmmmm?? 7 steals and, well you know........

Vic my man, you can't be serious. Craft is a major clog in the Buckeyes success.

If you don't believe this, and you still don't have faith in Craft as a big time player, then your basketball credentials are on a Jr.high level. You know very little about the game.

Someone needs you to open your eyes and smell the coffee. Next thing your going to tell me is that Naismith didn't invent the game!

Thad Matta, on the Thad Matta call in show:
“The great thing about Aaron, quite honestly, and this is a fact. He can play all five positions, he knows them, he’s that intelligent, intuitive to our system. He can go in for anybody and play any position. We had a game early this year where we were out of position and he just hopped in and played the four”

Craft looked phenomenal tonight, along with the entire team. Best game they've played all season.

He plays like a senior not like a freshman. His man to man defensive focus and his ability to see the entire floor when running the point are truly impressive.

Matt Painter Purdue's head coach on Aaron:

Painter compared Craft to former Purdue guard Chris Kramer, a Big Ten defensive player of the year.

"I love Aaron Craft," Painter said. "He’s tough. I talked to our guys and I explained to them how he can move laterally and how he was like Chris Kramer defensively, and better offensively. Very similar to him in terms of moving his feet and having that toughness."

Painter said Craft makes Ohio State a complete team by giving the Buckeyes something they have lacked since Mike Conley Jr. left after his freshman season in 2007: a true point guard.

"The thing Thad’s done a great job with, he’s had guys leave after one year and he’s had to adjust," Painter said. "I think he’s finally gotten caught up to Mike Conley leaving. He has (a point guard) right now, in my opinion, in Aaron Craft.

The game last night was great...Craft looked like a 4 yr SR running the #1 team in the country...I will admit, after watching him in High School 7-8 times, never thought he would be doing what he doing....great job!

I hope he doesn't leave early smile.gif in all seriousness, he can play in the nba someday. Accept it now or accept it later, but it will happen if he keeps progressing.

If you look at what is happening with these guys it all starts with great defense and that kinda started with AC. If you watch some of the interviews about 3 or 4 games ago they said that they needed to get better on D and now look. GREAT game last night and if they play at that level every game they will not be stopped. Although I do think they will more than likely lose a game but i hope they prove me wrong. Go Bucks!

Oh Yeah and look at all the haters coming out.......now they are saying Purdue isnt a good team.

Yeah, he had a great game. But I will agree with VIc, (I know Vic, I can't believe I said it either) let's not push him to the NBA til we see the full body of work. I am as big of Craft fan as anyone, and I am just looking forward to watching him grow and develop as he plays.

Let' just sit back eat popcorn.gif and enjoy The team as whole, and the fact that locally Aaron has been a big part of their success.

I want to know looking at the next few games, Who everyone thinks will have the best chance to upset them.

Wisconsin or Michigan State but everyone is gonna bring there A game to play the Bucks . If they can play as well as last night it wont matter but like i said before it would be very tough to not lose a game. Especially being the fact of playing some of these guys twice that makes things change too, i always thought it is hard to beat a team twice.

Best shot at losing is Wisconsin by far but there's only about 2 games left on the schedule I see them having no shot at all of losing(Michigan and Indiana).
