Wapak in OG tonight vs. OG and Kenton. Any other duals going on in WBL land?
I ignore Spongefag and Turn&Blow. :)

Bath will be at Elida for a dual. Should determine 2nd place in league. Bath struggling right now - will have a young line-up with a few holes. Meeks definately out - quit the team - not rumor.

I think Bath wins this one. Is Mack (160) wrestling? Any idea of lineups?

It looks like he wrestled at Lima Senior Invite this last weekend.

I dont know, its going to be a very close one... Bath has lost a few wrestlers from what I hear, and ALOT of changes in thier lineup... Very young team, and Elida seems to be very solid, top to bottom...

Last I heard Mack is in the lineup, im not sure about Lambert...
I couldnt even venture a guess of Baths lineup with all the changes...

I did see a great article of McDermitt(Shawnee) in the sports section today...

Mack should be at 160. Lambert probably out for rest of season - dislocated shoulder. Bath's line-up may look like this, but not sure of anything. 103 - void / JT Tapia, 112 - Bible, 119 Ingram, 125 - ?, 130 - ?, 135 - Mault / ?, 140 - Mault / ?, 145 - Wise, 152 - Smith, 160 - Mack, 171 - Chandler, 189 - Burden, 215 - Kiracoff, 285 - Keyner. Should be close - Bath wins if they don't have too many voids / give up pins in the lower wt. classes

Elida wins 42 - 31. Pins at 140 - 152 + Murphys dec. over Bible were too much for Bath to overcome. Looks like Elida goes into the tournament in 2nd - Bath 3rd. Doubt if either has enough Champions to challenge Wapak.

I almost feel bad for Kenton (If they didn't whoop up on everyone on Friday nights in the fall!! dry.gif ). They can only send four wrestlers out! That's hard to justify a team.

Wapak is also hosting their tournament this weekend. It should be some good wrestling. Wapak will be going for their second consecutive year to win the tournament after never winning it before last year!

Teams attending:

Vandalia Butler, Dublin Jerome, Marion Harding, Springboro, Northeastern, Pickerington Central, Troy Christian, Toledo St. Francis De Sales, and Wapakoneta
I ignore Spongefag and Turn&Blow. :)

Some fun wrestling... I try to always be positive but I have to admit that Ive been around wrestling for a long time and have travelled across Ohio to watch the best of the best...

Althought Elida put on a great show with the gym, spotlight, music and all... The fans/parents were extremely dissrespectfull... Booing a call or shouting a "move" heck even cat calls to the official for a call they dont agree on is part of the sport... But attacking the "kids" on the mat verbally, shouting things grown adults have no business saying to children participating in a sport was simply uncalled for... The school, set up, and wrestling get all my praise in the world... But the parents and fans should be ashamed of themselves... Then again its just my opinon, and figured I would make mention of it, feel free to agree or disagree...

SO I have asked before, with the WBL sneaking up on us, Someone give a "Guess" as the the rankings of the wrestlers... Also did anyone else read that article in Thursdays papaer... Was pretty neat!!! On another good side for local wrestling I saw the Bath Freshman was names athlete of the week... Looks like the WBL is getting its due praise!!!

Is there a web site where that article could be read? That is the second time I heard it was a good one, would love to read it.

Found it, pretty cool. Didn't know McDermitt's style had a specific name, Funk?. So far it has kept him out of trouble hope it can stay that way for him. He has a tough go this weekend up at Clay.

I saw him against Meeks and before that a few times... He is insane... Fun to watch and seems to have a crazy desire... I wish that young man nothing but the best!!!
Does anyone have a clue how to look up the athletes of the week on the Lima News?

Refman, I was there through the 160 lb match before leaving and cannot recall seeing or hearing anything like that through that point in the match, not sure to what you are referring. I have even seen more intense Elida-Bath matches in the past than last night. Though none had more cool of an atmosphere.

I am not saying it didn't happen, but unless things went haywire after 160 it had to be limited to one set or a small group of parents/fans. Lumping them all in together is a dis-service. Every program has a fan or two get "out of line" at times and while it is not acceptable, it is reality. Elida wnet out of there way to be a good host and even recognized a past Bath and Elida wrestler to serve as honorary captains.

Again, not saying it didn't happen at all, but I didn't experience it and one fan does not represent all fans..... it was a great expereince from my perspective.

I did hear that the "crowd involvement" picked up starting at about 189.... but then maybe your seat choice wasn't so fortunate either. It was a cool environment. Would like to see participation points adjusted in a way to allow for more home events by all schools. Home wrestling events are too limited IMHO would like to see them increase....

I couldnt agree more, that would never happen, well at least not anytime soon haha, but have a rowdy venue and Rivals going at it head to head... Nothing better, the fans and kids get nothing but pumped up, and there is nothing better...

I love football but
Wrestling is my passion!!!
