What do I mean about tradition with Kalida football? Comon they statrted their program 10 YEARS before Jennings did. They played mainly all WBL teams and still do play them all. They played when there was only 2 division and it was alot harder in tournatment time. It s hard to imagine how many league titles they would have in that 10 yr span if they weren't an independent team and the PCL had soccer.

So when I say there is more tradition in Kalida I'm talking 10 yrs more. cool.gif

KALIDA 1
JENNINGS 1

I was not at this game so i would appreciate some more info ........

Apparently Jennings scored on a through ball something like 30 seconds into the game.......
Kalida got their lone goal on a PK by Ryan Kleman..............

thoughts ? anyone who was there?

06 I was at the game and at the start of the game I truly believe that we were going to get blow away. FJ scored in 15 seconds to start the first half and dominated play in the first half along with having the wind at their back. Kalida got their goal when the jennings defense took McIntyre in the box. I believe that Kalida had a hard time containing the quickness of jennings in the first half, but when Kalida had the wind, jennings couldn't use their speed as much since balls got hung up. Overall, a very physical and intense game. Good luck to the cats the rest of the year

Very physical and intense game indeed.....a PK to tie this game wasnt how i was hoping Kalida would score but whatever works i guess.....does ne one know who was the larger line judge for this game....one of the worst ive seen all year....look out he will make or break a physical teams game plan with his happy whistle..other than that a very good game just unfortunate FJ had to tie on another penalty kick

wow and wasn't it KALIDA
saying OHHH who will flop like kaverman!
look who did the FLOPPING tonight
I wanted kalida to win tonight
but talk about a HORRIBLE FLOP
jennings controlled most of the game
enough said...

oh,,, and one more added thing

about the speed...
they moved bruskotter up
and started getting stuff done
fort jennings looked like one man wanted to dribble through the
opposing 10
then once bruckotter was moved forward
it looked like KALIDA had to bring back all 11 palyers into the box
the guy sitting next to me stated
that not on a corner kick or anythign
all of kalida was inside their 18
just packing the box
and playing long ball
that's all they played

both teams had obvious flaws
and that results 1-1
good game both teams
can't wait to watch in tourney...

Now hold a minute, that PK was the right call. There was more contact than you think hoochie. Unless you were sitting with the Kalida students on the far end, I don't believe you saw as much. The FJ defender has his hands squarely on the back of the Kalida forward and when their feet got tangled, it looked like he was pushed from behind. Besides, if you call that a horrible dive, what about the dive that jennings took to try and get a PK, I suppose that was a real foul.

what dive are u talking about?

that ref could not see where he was from
I belive i hear dthe kalida fans yelling that to him??
I lost respect for kalida seeing them just kick and run tonight

not saying jennings didn't do that
but they possesed most of the game

and Now i can't wait to see the game against continental
maybe there will b real goals instead of ref goals

Great game at jennings tonight. I would have liked to see it at a time with no wind, because Jennings would have won this game easily. There were some times when u thought Kalida was going to score for sure, but the Jennings defense would always out run them to every ball. Very physical game as well.

Score of the FJ vs Klida game: Tie 1-1
Jennings came out very strong scoring in under 30 seconds. Klida recivea a PK in the middle of the first half and were sucessful tieing the game. It was a very physical match like it is every year.

It was in the first half, just before halftime I believe when it appeared that the Jennings player took a spill in or around the area and for some unknown reason the far official called the foul on the Jennings player. Now I'm not trying to offend anone by saying that it was an intentional dive or whatever you want to call it, but it just seemed a little suspicious to me that right after Kalida recieved a PK for foul in the box, that FJ marched down and seemed to be trying get a call as well. Like I said, not trying to offend anyone from Jennings because at that particular time I was 60-70 yards from the play.

Does that kinda clear things up for you two?

Personallly I didnt think it was a very good game. Jennings didnt play nearly to their potential and couldnt string any passes together, yet they still seemed to posses the game. Kalida didnt impress me at all either they just played long ball the whole game, and talking about the dive; everytime McIntyre went down the field he would pull on a fort jennings defenders jersey and then fall expecting the call; and the ref on the bench side of the feild couldnt kkeep up with the play, and ended up calling the foul a couple of times. It was a very physical game.
It would be nice to see this game again in tournament.

yeah I know the ref didn't call it a dive because if it was a dive then the player should have been carded, and I'm not saying he did "dive", all I'm saying is that it seemed like he was trying to take a "dive" in order to get a PK. It's hard to explain what I'm thinking but I'm trying my best, sorry if I'm confusing you the brain is just not working....haha

benchwarmer, I'll agree with you and say that Kalida did play alot of long balls and I hate it when they do that as well, but the PK was correct. I know people will say "of course you say that you are from Kalida" and everyone knows that FJ people are going to disagree with me but either way you look at it, the call was made and its over now. As for the jersey pulling, that is just what you expect when these two teams meet. I saw FJ players grabbing jerseies just like Kalida players were doing that just happens when these rivals meet. Besides that is just mild as to some of the other stuff that has happened between the two teams. Three years ago, a kid was sent to the hospital when his lip was split open, and there have also been many other instances as well.

when you play a big game like that your are pretty much going to have to expect grabbing and stuff like that both teams didnt want to lose and so they did what they had to do.
