The reds looked listless and sloppy against St. Louis this week

Dusty is a terrible manager. This series was a huge opportunity for the Reds. A week and a half ago LaRussa started aligning our rotation to go with our 3 best. Dusty chose to start Leake (terrible over his last 10 or so starts) in game 1, against Carpenter. It should have been easy to juggle pitching to start Wood (a much better pitcher at this time) on Monday instead of Sunday vs the Cubs. And then they send Wood down? That move won't look too good if Cueto gets suspended.

There was a lot of choking this week. The only players that came through at all in this important series was Votto, Hernandez, and surprisingly, Bruce. The rest of them stunk up the joint. The only saving grace was that the games weren't close enough for Cordero to come in and lose it for them. Gomes was a bumbling disgrace. I could go on and on but what is the point?

Can the Reds recover from this train wreck, or was this the beginning of the end of playoff hopes for this season?

Both the Reds and the Cardinals have the easiest schedule left of all contending teams. With my stinking Cubs, Brewers and Pirates in the division, both teams will clean up. Think the wild card may come out of the central because the division is so weak this year.

I have to agree, that your Cubs suck mightily. They were a freekin' error factory against my ultimately, choking Reds. It's worse since Lou said he's done after this year. They act like kids with a substitute teacher. It's good to see you man up and admit it though. I admire you for that, buddy.

Mr.Henry(GM) should go. Bad contracts. Sorioano, Fukadome, Zambrano. Lou had enough. They should hire Bob Brenly, my guess they will do the PR thing and hire Sandberg. I hate Larussa but the cardinals starting pitching is tough. Would like to see the Reds win the division but I doubt it.

Brandon Phillips = Carlos Zambrano. A little talent with -O- brains. Cubbies - who's the better manager - Dusty or Lou? And, I too think they will go with Sandberg.

Phillips is an asshat. He makes routine plays look tough to garner Gold Glove votes

Yes, BP probably should not have said anything about the Cards, but it's him. He's got some spice to his game. AND, I wouldn't trade him for any other second baseman in the NL, Utley included. He makes all the plays, and he's hit everywhere in the lineup. How many players hit cleanup and leadoff in the same season?

Phillips hits like .270, and before this year he had a knack for not hustling all the time. He's more a 'me' than a 'we'. He's no Votto or Rolen. I really would like to know what Rolen thought when he heard Phillips rant.

That's easy. Lou. Dusty will ruin the Reds good young pitchers. Ask Prior and Wood.

Phillips is on my fantasy team but I would take Utley in a heartbeat over him.

fantasy baseball has no defensive stats, I'll take BP the complete player, over Utley.

In fantasy baseball, yes, in real baseball, I'll take BP. He gets to a ton of more balls than utley, and he can hit anywhere in the lineup.
