2) Big Lebowski (A must see, but dont watch it with the kids)
3) Romeo Is Bleeding (Lena Olin makes ruthless sexy somehow- Gary Oldman plays cop gone bad perfectly)
4) Miller's Crossing ( Gangster Film Noir. Like only the Coen Brothers can do it)
5) Unforgiven (Eastwood's grittiest western. He's comin' and he's "bringin' hell with him.")

I'm listening to Clarence Carter's "Strokin'" "(sassified!"

For some reason, got the image of a gorilla/orangutan (sp?) that led to reminding me of a couple more of my fave movies......

'gorilla' image reminded me of Clint again..('meber 'Clyde'????

We haven't mentioned any of his (Clint's; not Clydes...lol) frivilous movies....Then, that lead me to the movies of that time again & I have to add all the Burt Reynolds/Sally & Jerry Reed in the Bandit flicks from the time period......
obviously not Oscar winners, but, hold a special place in my heart for the time period... Great stuff!!!

Did Clarence Carter also sing "Patches?" That song just made me cry as a kid...heck, it made my dog cry.
Also, Burt Reynolds in "The End" was a good one if we are talking about Burt. As for Jerry Reed, when I hear his name I think of the hit maybe called "Amos Moses?" Pure redneck bliss.

"Field of Dreams"
"Shawshank Redemption"
"Goonies"
"Blazing Saddles"
The "Spiderman" series.
Honorable Mention - Not a big Batman fan but the Dark Knight was an outstanding flick. I've only seen it once but I think it's going to muscle it's way into my list one of these days. I went into it thinking the hype around Heath Ledger was largely in part to the fact that he died. And as I said, I was never a big Batman fan. The movie changed my mind on Batman and Ledger. Ledger playing the Joker was one of the first times I can recall in my adult life where I was actually creeped out by a movie character! Can't wait for the next!

I'd rather shower at Penn State than root for Michigan.

Sometimes an actor fits the role like he was "Bourne" to do it.

Yes....Clarence sang Patches....Prolly his best well known song; Strokin' to follow.....and Jerry Reed had a few hits....Amos Moses was def one of the most well known, along with, "If You're Hot You're Hot" & "East Bound"... from another of my fave movie series, Smokey & the Bandit"
Love this, as does baby slice.
