1) The Usual Suspects (Kizer Soze!!)
2) Big Lebowski (A must see, but dont watch it with the kids)
3) Romeo Is Bleeding (Lena Olin makes ruthless sexy somehow- Gary Oldman plays cop gone bad perfectly)
4) Miller's Crossing ( Gangster Film Noir. Like only the Coen Brothers can do it)
5) Unforgiven (Eastwood's grittiest western. He's comin' and he's "bringin' hell with him.")

Man....why do you always put a '#' on 'em!!??!! (and five at that!! eek.gif There's too many movies out there for just 5 faves biggrin.gif ) I have a list for your 'top 10 pipes' thread...but, I had to divide it into two groups... Male & female, as I couldn't make up my mind...then, still couldn't narrow them down to 10 each category....so, that's why I still haven't posted mine! blush.gif Like there, I'd have to break them down into atleast two categories here...Comedies & dramas....anyway...here goes....and NO! I can't do just 5, so this is what you get! biggrin.gif

My number one, no question about it; Gone With The Wind....after that, who knows....these are just some that come to mind as of right now...
**this is subject to change as the day(s) progress....lol

Leaving Las Vegas
The Ten Commandments
Arthur
My Cousin Vinny
Sound Of Music
Footloose
Rudy
Dirty Dancing
Ole Yeller
The Unforgiven--HUGE Eastwood fan!!
Walking Tall
Pulp Fiction
Analyze This
The Godfather
Delores Claiborne
"Forever never seems that long ~~until you're grown"
Bandido- November 24, 1957- August 12th, 2011.....RIP, my good friend... things will never be the same here without you. :(

It was hard for me too, but most people won't list more than five of ANYTHING. As for the Ten Commandments, you can't argue that as a choice. Edgar Robinson as a kind of a gangster slave is classic.

This is ridunkulous; I know...but, is just what goes on in this circus in my head....
pav.gif wacko.gif

I'm listening to Clarence Carter's "Strokin'" "(sassified!" rolleyes.gif but, i digress....)........ tongue.gif
For some reason, got the image of a gorilla/orangutan (sp?) that led to reminding me of a couple more of my fave movies...... shrug2.gif

'gorilla' image reminded me of Clint again..('meber 'Clyde'???? punk.gif punk.gif )
We haven't mentioned any of his (Clint's; not Clydes...lol) frivilous movies....Then, that lead me to the movies of that time again & I have to add all the Burt Reynolds/Sally & Jerry Reed in the Bandit flicks from the time period......

obviously not Oscar winners, but, hold a special place in my heart for the time period... Great stuff!!! clap.gif So, just had to add them. Just good time memories! biggrin.gif

Did Clarence Carter also sing "Patches?" That song just made me cry as a kid...heck, it made my dog cry.

Also, Burt Reynolds in "The End" was a good one if we are talking about Burt. As for Jerry Reed, when I hear his name I think of the hit maybe called "Amos Moses?" Pure redneck bliss.

As I suspected, many of these movies listed were not critic's favorites. Just goes to show the diversity in taste. I mean, My Cousin Vinny listed twice! Who would have guessed. Critics don't know everything.

Whatever the last 5 movies I watched were.

I honestly don't remember. It's probably been 5 over the last 4 years.

This is tough and is subject to change any given day. But here's my "go to" movies that always seem to be in my Top 5.

"Field of Dreams"
"Shawshank Redemption"
"Goonies"
"Blazing Saddles"
The "Spiderman" series.

Honorable Mention - Not a big Batman fan but the Dark Knight was an outstanding flick. I've only seen it once but I think it's going to muscle it's way into my list one of these days. I went into it thinking the hype around Heath Ledger was largely in part to the fact that he died. And as I said, I was never a big Batman fan. The movie changed my mind on Batman and Ledger. Ledger playing the Joker was one of the first times I can recall in my adult life where I was actually creeped out by a movie character! Can't wait for the next!

Sometimes an actor fits the role like he was "Bourne" to do it.

How about "The Big Lebowski?" for funny. A Coen brothers classic, Jeff Bridges plays a burnout loser to perfection
