Osu4me, Sorry to hear about your husband. Had a very similar incident happen to me about 4 months ago. Twisted a knee at work, went to St.Ritas. Then to OIO. Can't say it was a bad experience, I understand (and I think you do to) that they cannot keep a specialist on call all the time for all injuries. EVERYTHING is a specialty these days. Ankles are different from knees that are different than hands that are different than arms that are different than sholders etc....etc...etc...

Workers comp has been a nice suprise so far.

The only thing that really ticks me off to this point is one of the doctors I saw at the Hospital doesn't take workers comp even though it's on my chart when he saw me. Now I have to pay him out of my own pocket or he'll turn me over to collection while I wait on workers comp to reimberse me. (& workers comp has tried hard to get his office to bill them so they can get payed)

Good Luck & I hope all goes well.

On a side note I'm really suprised you had to make your own appointment at OIO. I went to the ER on a Saturday evening and they got a Monday morning apppointment for me at OIO before I left.

First of all....if LIMA had real hospitals,,,,there should be a doctor...ON CALL....there should be several doctors 24 hours a day on a assigned shift to deal with "PROBLEMS" that occur 24 hours a day......to DEAL WITH ANYTHING that occurs.......LIMA HOSPITALS SUCK.....I WILL SAY THIS TO THE DAY I DIE ....7 years ago...their "specialst" really ******ED UP MY SONS HEALTH he had to get life flighted to Cleveland Clinic....cause they ******ED UP......Cleveland DOCTORS ASKED US >>>>WHY THE HELLL>>>>>>DID THEY DO WHAT THEY DID....they were amazed......he has now been fighting cancer for 7 years cause your trusted LIMA health care officials were not smart enough to any kind of testing....****** LIMA

My mother in law went to St.Rita's....was misdiagnosed and the next thing we know there was a priest in the room. She got lifeflighted to OSU and was there over a week and a half. Everything worked out, but I won't be in St. Rita's for nothing more than a broken finger ever again.

I understand how you feel about hospitals and heathcare. I've hit the roof more than once with my daughters injuries and the hospital and medical red tape. Now when she gets hurt or even really sick I bypass local hospitals and take her to National Wide Childrens in Columbus. They treat her like a princess and don't play 20 questions with me. There goal is to treat first and then deal with any paper work. Wish all hospitals would work this way. It's worth my 2 hour drive and her own doctor understands. For myself I use Van Wert and I haven't had any issues with them and I'm happy about that.
