A female taken from the house around am tis morning...something just isnt right. Woods life may be crumbling in front of the world.

As a huge sports fan, and Tiger fan, I hate to see this. This is one guy who we, at least I, thought was a great guy and athlete and had nothing to worry about. He seemed as if he just had it all, was a great family man, money, good looking wife and now it could be all gone.

I believe the person taken from Tiger's home might have been his Mother-in-law...... At least that seems to be the early reports.

Just realized I had my post in the wrong thread.....Anyway, here it is..........

What bothers me most about this is not so much he 'cheated', but the squeaky clean image that he's been portraying to the public that's such a lie!!!

I truly don't understand why everyone was/is so upset w/David Letterman in a loosely paralleled story...... ????

He's (david letterman) never portrayed himself to be a 'pillar of the community" & when he had his 'transgretions' if you can call them that, as he wasn't married & all of the women were waaaaay above consentual age & he had not had their child w/his now wife..... which she was not at the time.....

David Letterman has often insisted that people not look on him as a role model..... He often talks about mistakes he's made..... He has never held himself out to be a paragon of virtue, and in his self-depricating humor, often makes fun of himself..... He's never bragged about any great things he's done & he never holds himself out to be some wonderful person...... He often talks in non-specific terms about how flawed he actually is....... A lot of what he talks about that might have happened to him in his life is either fictional or exaggerated for the sake of humor...... He's just telling a story so he has his income........ He's a comedian...... It's his job.

What Tiger Woods has done is perpetrated, blatant, total fraud/lie...... A total lie to many ppl & seems has/will most likely hurt many in the process....It's hard for me to understand how (& why) someone would do that....??? I'd much rather for someone be who they truly are to me than 'fake'...... Especially when he's recently married & brought a child into this world......

Sad, sad story of events.... And plenty more to come, I'm sure. sad.gif

So tired of hearing all of this. It's none of my business, and none of it surprises me. You mean to tell me that a major sports star cheating on his wife and people are surprised?

What he does in his free time is between him, his family, and God. The media needs to get out and stay out.

Could not agree more!.. This again is a situation between husband and wife...not the "fans" of the sports world

But he's celebrity so we're going to hear about it. A celebrity that because of his fantastic talent has become the most recognized athlete in the world. And perhaps the reason so much talk and interest on this is the fact that he's been involved with so many (cough, cough) women. A total of 14 as of today, now no matter how one spins it that's getting very, very busy.

He is a celebrity because of his god given talent in golf...not because of his womanizing. I could care less what he does in his private time as long a he is not breaking the law. What he did with however many women, whether it is 1 or 3 doz, is only the business of him and his wife...not the rest of us. So what a lot of you are saying is because he is famous that he gives up his right to privacy? And I say that for any athlete, movie star, rock star etc. Just because someone is famous does not mean that they owe us all the gory details of their "personal" lives. If any of you that have past, I guarantee that you do not want the whole world to know...and this same respect and privacy should be awarded to the "stars" as well.

Tiger's personal life went out the window when he put his John Hancock on all the endorsement deals! Their is a Code of Conduct to all of those deals.

I will give you that his personal life MAY, be a part of his endorsements, but again, that is between him and his sponsors...not the general public; ie fans...it is his business, not yours, mine, or anyone else's.

I would bet that I have mutual funds that have every company Tiger endorses. Yes it is a big deal because it could cost me money

I agree....That it's none of our business...... & I truly could not care less--never was a huge fan, but, he is a 'star' & as cougsie has said, he's endorsed products that, unfortunately, ppl will buy because of his 'portrayed good image' that others would like to emmulate.....Therefore, should be held to a higher standard.....He, afterall, went along with the deals that put the MEGA MILLIONS in his pockets from many of us......
That's my problem w/him or any other high profile personality-movie star, athlete, government official, etc..... If you don't live a 'perfect' life, don't portray as if you do....Be who you are....... If you're a dog, be dog & don't bother lying to us about it trying to cover it up...... It's the fakeness that gets to me....
He has made us privy to his life goings on by the contracts & such he entered into......And as little interested as I am in this, you can not avoid what's going on if you access any type of media source.....

If he really wants to be the person he has portrayed to us, hopefully this will be the wake up call he needs to get him on track to be the pillar of virtue that many have thought him to be in the past & he & his family can remain together & be even stronger by overcoming this huge scandal...... I do wish them all the best.

Ok Cougs, I will give you that, yes you could lose some money because of this..BUT you shouldn't because it is not anybody's business. Now if he broke a law and fell from grace that is totally different and you would have every right to be pissed. But you are saying you lost money because he was unfaithful to his wife? Damn...hate to see what we all lose when a congressman (BOTH parties) or a minister, or a teacher is unfaithful out there in this cruel world. All I am saying is this is a personal issue that should be between him and his wife and nobody else.If his sponsors don't like it they have every right to drop him.

I don't ever recall Tiger saying he was perfect. I DO recall him stating he wanted to keep his private life private and I respect that as anyone should. He is paid to perform on the golf course and should be judged by that. People today put stars on a pedestal and when they do not meet expectations they all scream foul. Heck if the media was like this back in the day of some yesteryear stars, we would not have all these feel good stories of Babe Ruth, Ty Cobb, Mickey Mantle ( though his problem has been well documented) etc. My gosh people, these are sports stars, not saints. They are people just like you and I. Just because they are in the public eye does not mean they have to be or can be perfect.

I admit it, I slept with Tiger Woods. He even left claw marks in my back. I was a bit upset, however, because he promised to bring a fairway wood for me but only delivered a putter.

There are always 2 sides to every story.

For instance Ty Cobb was a dirty bad boy baseball player, but not many people realize that he lived most of his life with much pain inside himself. There is a story on how Ty Cobb's father died. His father I believe was a traveling salesman and one night he came home late and didn't want to wake his wife and family. So he climbed up a tree next to the house in the hopes of getting into an upstairs window. His wife mistakenly thought he was an intruder trying to break into their home. She grabbed a gun and shot him dead not realizing it was her husband. It is said that the death of his father had tormented Cobb until the day he died.
Yes, some people can have problems that haunt them throughout their lives that make them behave in an undesirable fashion. However Tiger Woods I'm sure had nothing like that in his life. Therefore he can deal with this and it will remain open until he decides he wants to change his life. Yes, I guess it is none of our business but as long as the media has people tuning in it will be.
