Dare we speak of December 19th yet?

Who is the favorites? What wrestlers will shine and who are the darkhorses?

Bath and the WBL boys may be a bit worn down after a tough Thursday WBL Duel on the 17th!

Predictions, Concerns.... Thoughts? dry.gif

I think that Green for Elida will surprise some people. I think that weights will determine a lot. Caulkins from Bath will be tough. Just to mention who might be a surprise to some people.

Elida lost some of their key guys, but I think Green will put on a good show this year if he gets more mentally tough. Shawnee has McDermot, Bowdle, Irons, and Parsons. McDermot, even though he's only a sophomore, can go to state this year if he stays healthy. Bath will once again be stacked this year, but next year they dont have anyone to fall on. Meeks should go to state. A couple teams will surprise this year. Defiance is one of them.

It seems as though there may be a few new names being introduced for a couple powerful teams this year!

The majority of the WBL should be filling all thier slots... Does anyone have some potential lineups for the various teams? Guesses?

Defiance is not in Allen County so the would be a real surprise team to win the Allen County Invitational.

Excellent Matchup tonight at Bath as Celina will be coming to town for a Tri-Duel with Versailles. (6 PM)

Very good opportunity for the area to see where Bath stands prior to the Allen County Tournament! biggrin.gif

This will be the sixth season for the tournament, past champions have been, Allen East, Bluffton, Shawnee, and Elida twice. I think this year will be a close finish with some really good wrestling. After watching some of the area teams after the first couple of weeks, I would have to believe that a few of the favorites would be Bath, Elida, and St. Johns. Who else could be a contender?

Hey Matfan, it was nice meeting you at Lincolnview Invitational. I hope you didn't mind my son calling you out to me. I know most people want there "boardnames" kept in private.

No problem, I think they just do that so they can talk some smack and not be held accountable for it. Tell Ty good luck this weekend and I expect to see him in the finals against Obie.

Hey Taz, whats up? Looking forward to county this week. Who do you like? How about a weight by weight breakbown? Personally I like the 189 pound class. Miller, Irons, Gremling, and Heiing. How, should be a tough class!

Heard Obie (SP) was not wrestling this weekend. Is there any truth to that?

i agree with matfan, 189 will be one of the toughest with a lot of close matches. i would say 215 is one of the weaker ones though, is there any other weak weight classes?

matfan - all weight classes will be won by Elida.....what else am I supposed to say being involved with elida.
Seriously though....this years County is the strongest it has been.
Listening to everyone, you know that Bath seems to be the favorite.
As I have seen to many times before sometimes the clear cut favorites aren't so clear cut.
Yes there are those clear cut finalists. Just remember though that you have some younger guys and some that don't have that name recognition that will be ready to make a run at the finals.
Some names are Hahn, Hahn, Pauff, Hunlock, Arbogast, Miller, Patterson, Mcdermitt, Delamotte's, Wilson, Lindeman, St. Johns wrestlers not named Merschman, Fisher, Lovejoy, Brinkman, Parsons, Irons to name a few.
I will get back when the seeds are posted for those that would like to be in the know so to speak.
