I heard Coach Roob has applied and is still in consideration. There is another applicant at least, and I heard the board is reviewing the whole thing. Now I am not getting any of this info directly from any official source, so some of it could be wrong. It's just a compilation of what I'm hearing most often.

So topflight, anything to add to what I posted earlier? Is it looking like coach Roob, or someone new?

Those are the only 2 I know in the running. By the way coach, I saw you at the homecoming game and you look like you've been hittin the weights. You're holding up good for an old man.

You've got to be kidding? No school board in their right mind would interview parents about a potential coaching hire would they? If that's the case, does the new coach only get the expectation of getting a couple years until a new set of parents come in and decide they want someone else?

Lets see, the parents didn't like the old football coaches, so they got new ones, they didn't like the baseball coach so they are trying to get a new one of those and I'm sure if we went back and looked we would find those that want to get rid of the baseketball coach, (boys at least) (note to parents) you cant his son is your best player. How long before the new football coach feels the same communtiy support?
Maybe they are waiting on a district wide vote this November. Maybe Bath should hold an Eric Mangini like "Opportunity Period" for "rookies and new guys" to prove themselves before getting a shot! The bottom line is the more things change, the more they stay the same.

Well, Coach Roob has been there a while. Regardless of what's percieved as a lack of patience taking place in other sports, you cannot say we havent been patient with baseball. We clearly do not have a wining baseball program like Defiance or Shawnee. It's simply a statistical fact. Now maybe you can say it's because the athletes aren't good enough, but they compete with those two schools at the lower levels. TopFlight says Coach Roob places more kids in college than any other coach. That is an admirable quality and worthy of consideration when deciding to keep him or not. I'm not coming down on either side. I'm just wondering why it's taking so long to make a decision.

That's a very good point and you may be right. Besides, it's not like the baseball program is terrible, it would just be nice to see more tournement success, wheather it be the coach or the kids.
