I saw the Kalida/FJ game tonight. Cats win 2-0

Scored their 1st with 8:30 left in the 2nd half and got 1 more a couple minutes later.
Going in I thought Kalida would put up 5 or 6 goals but FJ defense played well.
Both teams looked kind of tired.
Very Clean game. I don't recall a yellow card all night. FJ boy hurt with about 2 minutes to play. Accidental, not intentional.
FJ has no offensive push with the ball. Kalida looked a half a step off, just couldn't get started but played well enough to win

I also saw the OG/FJ game Monday. I have relatives at OG, Kalida, FJ and Ottoville. I haven't seen the Green yet.
I would say at this point OG is the best of the 3 Schools I've seen.

I also will say that FJ is not the dirty team that I read about above. They physically aren't big enough to be thugs or muggers. They took there fair share of elbows to the back of the head and OG didn't grab jerseys as much but like to wrap their arms around the waist. FJ's problem is they got cards while the officials were giving OG verbal warnings. The goalie did dump the OG player in the 2nd half. Uncalled for, never should have happened. My OG relation thought the officials were giving the home team a few breaks, the FJ relation said that you have to be smarter on the road. When you win be happy, when you lose, learn from it. No one got hurt or had to be carried off. I'd say this is plain old Putnam County Soccer. Last one left standing wins.

Well DISSENT i guess i could say i wont be surprised if u guys dont lose a game the rest of the season but then again it could happen tho...either way like i said the PCL even Division 3 this year is not that strong this year or even last year for that matter ...but DISSENT i say that you will lose because of the same thing that happened last year when u were talking about how no one could score on ur dominating defense, but here's a news flash for u Ottoville scored 2 goals and moves on to District...but oh well man that happens and we move on lol...now ill admit i thought that was one of ur better teams since back in 01-03 season.....its just ur built around a good defense, and since ur built around a defense ur relying on ur defense to shut teams down and hope that ur offense can sneak in a goal or two...offensively i dont think u have the capability to rack up 6-7 goals even against a weaker opponent much like FJ or whoever...Here's the thing, if u guys go up against an average offense and a weak defense, ya i see u guys winning 2-0 but if u go up against a great offense and weak defense, then i see u getting beat by the exact opposite....but anyways i think ull have a good season like i said Division 3 is not that strong, so i would like to watch that Temple and Kalida game next thursday just to see whats expected from both teams but i do wish the best of luck to ur Wildcats DISSENT and especially to all the County teams and hope that we see another county team in regioanls!

SirSpeedy:

Braggart? Try one of these synonyms instead, "big, boastful, bragging, braggy, cock-a-hoop." (http://dictionary.re...browse/braggart). Personally, I like "cock-a-hoop". biggrin.gif

Venom:

I agree with your comment, "if u go up against a great offense and weak defense, then i see u getting beat", isn't that what happed in the Van Buren game? Very good post Venom.

REMINDER:
YES FOLKS, ON SATURDAY, AUGUST 29TH, IN THE YEAR OF OUR LORD 2009, VAN BUREN DIDTH BEAT KALIDA IN THE GAME OF BOYS VARSITY SOCCER. IT WAS SAID, AND IT IS SO...

Good point zx4900, they are playing better, especially when Shawnee pokes one in the goal for them smile.gif

My highly professional PCL rankings, as formulated via computer analysis of the best part of each of the 10 computer ranking systems across the country, are as follows:

1) Kalida--- Offense improving, but still needs more work to catch up to their D
2) Miller City----Lots of returnees, and it's showed with only one loss. Would suggest a schedule upgrade, though
3)Ottoville----Can Nate Turnwald average three goals/game the rest of the year?
4)Continental----Don't look for style points with this group, but you'll have to work for everything you get in the zone
5)Fort Jennings---The glory years of just a few years ago seem but a distant memory now
6) Pandora-Gilboa---Some surprising defections from the football team make them much more competitive this year

The big question now, because it will be here very soon, is who would you put #1 seed at Kalida sectional? Ottawa-Glandorf just had a huge win over Elida 1-0, while Kalida tied Elida 0-0. On the other hand, Kalida beat Shawnee by 1, whereas the Titans lost 5-1 to the Indians, and there's more examples to use on both sides of the argument, so my computer started spitting out all sorts of malfunction and H1N1virus notices & overheating when I asked for a clearcut #1 using comparative scores, and of course their annual tie-fest in the regular season will be after the draw, so no help there. We need input from RC nation!

do tell how your cats are going to beat bluffton and their stronger with every game defense?... i recall you saying its a rebuilding year for them. maybe so but if i do say so myself the talent is there just took a few games for them to realize their full potential and grasp it. with your so called top notch defense and not so good offense and blufftons young but strong D and very strong keeper and average offense. i see bluffton taking the victory 1-0.

oh no if I tried to play keeper I would break every bone I have especially in my right foot from a car accident I had when i was 29 so guess again.. and I'm not the father either before you say that. i just live in the area and love the way Bluffton is so underestimated especially Jaden August, Matt Suderman, and Fred Freeman
