Ouch, they have to play the Nation's number 1 team kind of bites

The Eagles had the Lakers down 36-21 with just over a quarter to play earlier this year - Cundiff threw for 358 yards and 4 TDs (Joe Horn had 12 catches for 185 yards and 2 TDs).

If you're gonna go very far in the playoffs, you have to beat a good team some day - might as well be the #1 team, because after you win that, the rest are easy!

GO EAGLES!
Do you not know that in a race all the runners run to win, but only one receives the prize? Run in such a way that you get the prize! 1 Cor 9:23

The University of Oklahoma has video highlite clips on there web page. It's kinda neat to watch Carlee Roethlisberger playing D1 and doing so well. Wish more colleges would have highlite clips to watch.

The University of St. Francis in Ft. Wayne is currently ranked #3 in the nation and has made it to the final four again. I think they have a 53 home field win streak in place. Beat Ohio Dominican in the season 35- 0. Bo Frye (St. Marys) is starting fullback now and is doing very well. Koby Frye (St. Marys) gets time in as wing back. AJ "Juice" Hohenbrink (OGHS) is redshirted and will be fighting for a starting role next year as left guard. Devin Chambers (Wapakoneta) is also on the roster. Brian Gagle (Celina) is a jr. defensive back. Good luck Cougars in the final four. football.gif

Needed to add that St. Francis is in the NAIA.
Did look up info on the UD Flyers football website. They ended the season 9-3, second in the Pioneer League. St. Marys Scott Vossler was voted defensive player of the year in that league. His brother Corey had a good season on defense as well. Bart Bergfeld, TE, from Delphos St. Johns made the ESPN All American team. Luke Bellman from OGHS did get playing time as a freshman as a receiver.

Spoke to Chris Morrow (Van Wert) tonight and he's got a red shirt this season. While home on his Christmas break he has been working out at the high school.

Greg Micheli, Upper Sandusky graduate, led #1 Mount Union College to their third victory in four years in the Amos Alonzo Stagg Bowl, 31-26 over Wisconsin-Whitewater, in the Divsion III Championship game. Micheli was named the games Outstanding Player, winning that award for the second time, the only player to have won it twice.

Earlier in the week, Micheli was named the Division III Player of the year, an honor which takes into consideration not only athletic achievement but classroom studies as well. Greg has a 3.87 GPA with a double major in Physics and Math and is pointing towards Mathematical Engineering as a career.

In a related matter, Nate Kmic, Delta High School, rushed for 88 yards for Mount Union in the Championship game and finished his career with 8074 yards rushing, the most by any palyer in any division in NCAA history.

Congratulations to these two fine young men who, by the way, are roommates and best wishes to them as they move on in their lives. Props also to Mount Union coach Larry Kehres who has won 10 National titles at Mount Union.

Ran into Chris Morrow in C-bus yesterday. He is working out on campus and is going to have some knee surgery in a couple of weeks. Hopefully he will be fully recovered and ready for this fall.

I believe he was even having some knee problems during his senior year at VW...hopefully the scope he's having clears all that up. West Lib seems to be in dire need of another shooter....jokes jokes....

Michael Ream was dismissed from what would have been his senior season on the BG Falcon football team.
