So what you're saying is from you hearing him on the sideline would determine if he's POY?

That sounds like a very good prognosis to me.

Bill do you even know what prognosis means? laugh.gif

I have to add my two cents, Gill is an amazing player great knowledge of the game, handles the ball very well can score from inside or outside, one of the most unselfish players around. i think he deserves it.

After seeing Danny Clum tonight against Cory, he deserves it. None of Cory's players impressed me.

Well you don't have to have the top team to be POY. It might usually go that way but its not a required thing. It seems formercoach thay you are saying the POY should only be chosen from CR or Ada. Also, wasn't gil starting the last two years (maybe since he was a freshman?) and wasn't R-dale league champs the last two years? Clum is a great player, but i believe that Gil deserves the title and I've been paying attention to NCOSA play for the last few years. Gil is the better all around player.

Not saying that, but I can remember league meetings where people thought that should always be the case. I can remember Blake Pifer's junior year when I thought that he was clearly the best player, but had to wait his turn even after going unbeaten in the league. It is a league POY, so maybe we should compare Gill and Clum's LEAGUE stats. Anyone have those handy?

If you are going to compare Clum and Gills League Stats... then you might wanna look at all the positions that Gill has played this year for his team...

Well, if Clum doesnt score those goals, does Ada win?

Ada proved they didn't need Clum when they played and won against Kenton

You missed the point. NCOSA games are the topic here. Didnt say that the rest of the team wasnt good, they are. Just stating that more often than not that they needed Danny and his goals. No knock on Kenton, but they had a down year.

Same thing can be said with Gill.. If Gill didnt step up and play a different role for his team when they needed him to.. does riverdale win?

Toff you should of gave Gill the gloves against bluffton when your keeper went down.. then he would have played every position on the field this year..

oh and that grant kid from riverdale has step up a lot the second half of the season...

I think the vote will be very close because there is not much seperation between the top players and each plays a different style. Here is how each coach might vote Ada- Clum his team won the league he developed into a good passer this year, Riverdale- Gill very versatile player as stated above great athlete, Tiffin- may vote for their top scorer forgot his name check out his stats, Cory- Ice led a team with probably the weakest supporting staff (besides Sewell) he was marked closely every game. All these coaches have pretty valid arguments. So it could come down to Mohawk, Upper Sandusky, Old Fort and Van Buren (could vote Tropf not top three imo but close enough if bias plays out) deciding the outcome. What will they use to decide- how each player looked during their game, best stats, etc. it will be interesting. I would give a slight edge to Clum he led a projected 2nd or 3rd place preseason team to the title. It would not be to far fetched if the honor was shared. His dad should get coach of the year for the same reason above.

Riverman, coaches cannot vote for their own players in the NCOSA.

Since my team doesn't play Ada, I still hear alot of clammoring about this "Clum" player. In fact, he sounds like the kind of player every coach would love to have.

So, when talking stats and the such, what awards did he receive last year? How did he do against the top-teams Ada played this year (not Old Fort, Bath, Upper Sandusky or Lima Senior)? But, more like Bluffton, Riverdale, Ottoville or Miller City?

Next, how do you think he will do in the tournament this year?

I think there are several young men in his Sectoinal/district bracket that are just as skilled as he is,and I am not taking anything away from him either,he is a very nice player I would want him on my team

Well if people think troph is up there, then ice should too. or that number 11 kid from riverdale. he's pretty good too. In my opinion, i dont think clum is that good

well IMO you should take a second look and get over the fact that he probably ran your butt up and down the field while making you trip over your own feet!!!!!!
wallbash.gif get over the fact that he smoked you guys and give him credit!
