How did Romeo do in math? Maybe it's because he always coached defense...he seems to not know that FG=3 points, TD=7 points. Down 7 points a FG won't do it. Even 2 FG's won't do it. Between him and Anderson going stupid all of a sudden it sure is frustrating watching them. Maybe our power should have stayed off all night........I didn't get to watch much football in the afternoon-power went off at around 3...then came back on at 9-just in time for me to get frustrated for the third night in a row..... wallbash.gif

Bet you were wishing then that the power stayed off a little longerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr Gotta agree with everyone about the time management...actually MISMANAGEMENT, by Crennel.....pathetic!

Week #3 Ravens 28 Browns 10

Lets see every week is different but the same. Rookie starting QB leads Ravens to a win by not making any game altering mistakes. Browns QB throws three INTs one for a TD and another that should have been. Browns QB has a passer rating of like 29 in the game. Continuing with the lack of discipline by making stupid penalties such as tripping, to screw up first downs and field position. This team is terrible, lacks any motavation except to get paid. this team needs a hard core hard line head coach. FIRE FAT ALBERT NOW!!!!!

Since no team that has ever started 0-3 has made the playoffs, there is no reason to continue with this coach and this quarterback. Fire Fat Albert now and start Brady Quinn.

There is an almost unbelievable lack of total team effort discipline pride and motavation with this team and it oozes out for all to see every game. Miami beats NE, SF wins again, Oakland and Cincinnati play to win, WE SUCK YET AGAIN! FAT ALBERT MUST GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yesterday didn't bother me-I am now a Buffalo Bills fan.

Ha....the Buffalo Bills fan part might be true...but I was so ticked off watching that game yesterday.............

Derek Anderson is terrible. I never was a Quinn fan-but I want to see him now. He can't be any worse than Anderson has been. This team needs so much...Linebackers, a safety, wide receivers, quarterback, Head Coach.........

Oh the joy and satisfaction I can take from stating last season that Derek Anderson was not remotely as good as the 3 or 4 games where he was good last season. Still can't believe they dropped that money on him with Quinn waiting in the wings. If the Browns don't turn it around soon, Quinn will be starting and Anderson will probably be cut in the offseason.

Battle of attrition this weekend with the Bengals and Browns. Can't wait for that, huh?

Here is a example of why the Browns are always bad.....Derek Anderson has something like a 60 passing rating for the last 9 games. He has failed in every big game he has been in. His alleged great season was built on an easy part of the schedule last year with little pressure at the time to succeed. Since then, being the last nine games, including a must win against the lowly Bengals last year that would have clinched the playoffs, he throws int after int. We drafted Brady Quinn and then give Anderson a contract extension instead of letting him try free agency and getting a draft pick in return to go along with the QB we drafted. We also give Fat Albert a contract extension. Now we are stuck with both big contracts for two more years because of Phil Savage's belief that we are the Patriots. Gee, how bad must Brady Quinn be to not be able to surpass Anderson at QB after the last nine performances.

I have been calling for the firing of Crennel for sometime. Why wait to lose to the Bengals and do it over the bye week. Do it now. He has lost the team, and they play worse every week. Being a Browns fan who has seen it all, losing is tolerable when the team is at least trying and the coach at least looks like he knows what he is doing. Crennel doesn't know how to be a head coach and to see him on the sideline week after week with that donut glazed look on his face, while his team commits penalty, turnover and breakdown time and time again, is disgusting. Fire Crennel and play Quinn before the NFL takes our team away from us again.

I can't remember for sure...what draft picks would they have received if some other team signed Anderson? I think they placed a 1st and 3rd round compensation offer on him. It wasn't franchise or transition player tag, I do not believe. They could have gotten those two picks if someone else signed him. The issue is that the interest in Anderson was MINIMAL last year, yet they still went and signed that contract for the large money and several years. They could have basically gotten Anderson for around 3 millino this season and allowed Quinn one more year to be mentored, but they were ridiculous and signed a multi-year deal. Absurd.

At this point I am not sure but I think Anderson was a restricted free agent and if anyone would have been dumb enough to sign him to an offer sheet, the Browns would have received a first and third round draft pick for letting him go. Instead they signed him to a three year deal. Then we trade our first second and third round picks, plus our best DB for two D Linemen. Now we have a first round QB sitting on the bench in favor of a backup who filled his stats against four teams at the beginning of last year and failed when it counted.

Phil Savage brought Anderson and Crennel to Cleveland. Savage wants a yes man coach who doesn't want to question personnel moves or want that power. Which is why we wont get a coach with a personality. Why would Savage sign Anderson and Crennel to contract extensions when they failed when it counted. Why has Crennel been an assistant coach for over 20 years before getting the Browns job? Savage thought he was a poor mans Tuna and thought Anderson was the next Tom Brady. A football team reflects the personality of its head coach and plays to the tune of its head coach. Savage has a coach who does what he says and Cleveland has a team that plays with no postive emotion, no intensity and seems confused, just like the coach on the sideline every week, getting preseason hype by beating the bad teams on its 4th place schedule last year. At least we wll have another 4th place schedule next year.

Front Row Joe you are very astute in your observations. Derek Anderson should not be blamed. All blame must fall on the GM and the coaches. Derek Anderson should not be blamed. He has been consistant for the last 9 games and basically his whole career save five games last season. It was the idiot GM and coaches that gave him a contract extension instead of letting him leave for future high draft picks. It was the idiot GM and coaches who drafted Brady Quinn by giving up yet another first round pick and now have think about starting him. Cowboys by the way got Felix Jones with that pick. You are right Joe, the team plays with no passion or intensity except for Lewis and Winslow. Can Quinn make this team better? Does he make it worse? Let the number one draft pick play and return DA to the backup status that he has rightfully earned.

THIS JUST IN:

Browns coach Romeo Crennel, ignoring the advice of Hall of Famer Jim Brown, has opted to stick with Derek Anderson as the starting quarterback of the team on Sunday, when the winless team from Cleveland faces the winless squad from Cincinnati.

But Anderson will be on a short leash.

“Anderson is the starter and [Brady] Quinn will be ready,” Crennel said. “I’m not going to go into the what-ifs, the whens, the where, the how long or anything like that. The decision was made and that’s what it’s going to be. We’re going to go forward.”

Does Crennel's quote mean that Quinn, the back-up, has not been ready to come in during the previous three games? Gee who else on the team hasn't been ready?

It's like watching what a train wreck would look like as you try not to view the inevitable, morbid outcome that you know is going to happen.............. in slow motion..............and then repeated, numerous times.....de ja vu, over & over again.....but, clowns fans are obviously numb to these expected emotions by now.

I was this close (holding thumb and index finger 1/4 inch apart) to becoming a Buffalo Bills fan.....Thanks Bengals........I'll stick with the Browns for a couple more weeks...but you know I was beside myself when Anderson came back on the field after throwing that pick early in the 3rd quarter. At one time in the 3rd quarter they showed his QB rating at 16. He ended up at 74????? Again-Thank you Bengals!!!

Funny moment game was reading Crennels lips on the Bengals FG atttempt..."Shaun-make sure you are onsides"....I laughed...how does a NFL player do that 4 times in one game?????? Coach Klump actually showed some emotions getting mad and tearing his headset off at one point.

Fat Albert and his QB will be very excited with todays victory over the BUNGALS who bungled their way all over the field. DA upped his QB rating to 74.7 in a hall of fame exibition. Edwards scored a TD and immediatly showed us his new TD dance. PATHETIC.

All this did was delay the inevitable for two more weeks. The Browns still suck and the coach and QB are still terrible. How about a penalty for too many men on the field in the victory formation, how about 5 offsides on the defense penalties, how about a 16 first half QB rating. The Browns won because the Bengals are more bumbling, the Browns would have lost by 20 to any other team in the league today.

FIRE CRENNEL

BENCH ANDERSON or

SCHEDULE THE BENGALS 10 MORE TIMES THIS YEAR

It sucks that you cannot enjoy your favorite teams win but this does nothing but continue the tradition of excel.....*******!

Well for the 2nd week in a row, the Browns have not lost......Lets go ahead and sign Romeo and DA to new long term contracts! Here are our next 4 games. Giants on Monday nite, Redskins, Jaguars and Ravens. Does anyone see a win there? After that we get the Titans, Bills, Eagles, Bengals, Steelers, Broncos and Texans. So if I am optimistic, I would say we have a chance with the Bengals and Texans but after seeing these teams play this weekend, does anyone think those games are games in which we will be favored? This team has a great chance to go 1-15! The good news is that we will surely see the end of the Fat Albert era and hopefully the end of the DA and 3-4 defense era which we haven't had the right players to play in since the alleged 3-4 defensive master got here. A Monday Nite beat down should surely bring on the Brady Quinn era.

Don't know if this has been posted on here but I heard Braylon Edwards went to the Cleveland Clinic to get a flu shot but was turned away. Seems the doctors told him that he only has a 30% chance of catching anything anyways!!!!:)
