I know its just my personal opinion, but i dont see clum as POY material for some reason. he's well liked but he's not that good. As for ice, his vocals just come out when he's yelling at the ref after he falls on the ground. But he still has some good qualities about him. As for sewell, he only got 2 goals i believe against oldfort but he got 2 against state ranked bluffton. Any player that can do that catches my eye. Gill is just all around good, but i want to see some goals from him. wallbash.gif

Yea bluffton is state ranked but its bc of their offensive power. Their defense has given up 18 goals this year in ten games. Thats almost two goals a game. Its blufftons offense you have to watch out for

ok, ive been looking at this discussion for awhile and i have to put my input in it. I have been to almost every CR game and I have been to many many many Ada and riverdale games. i thought, what the heck, i have to check out these players. if you want to go by stats, Sewell and Clum are the nost dominant. Correct me if im wrong but sewell has 15 goals this season to clums 9??? ok,now both of those players had their share of goals in both sucky teams and good ones. The difference is, Sewell wasnt very good his freshman, sophmore, or junior year. He had a real problem for finishing goals for some reason....i mean, it was bad! he finally found his shot and he is putting those goals in left and right.....even on good teams such as ottoville which was an upper 90 breakaway where he had to beat the goalie and 2 goals that sneaked past bluffton. Now clum is just as brilliant, not as fast, but has a strong strong strong strong shot. However!!!!!, clum has been pretty popular since he was a freshman so he has that name behind him. Now Gill I dont know much about. he stands at midefield and controls it pretty well. the thing about him is that he has brilliant foot skills which many players dont have. He also goes back to defense a lot which is not too bad of an idea angainst those strong teams. Ok....as for POY.....Gill or Sewell. I have seen many games and both of those players are team oriented. They both are not selfish..ok, ive said my peace

Sewell has 12 goals now I believe if the stats are correctly posted from tonights game. He only has 2 or 3 assists. He is not a very good passer and also a bit selfish if you actually watch him. I wonder how many of his goals come through Ice. Ive seen the riverdale, jennings, and ottoville game. Sewell scored once in ottoville and jennings games but both assists coming from the leader of that cr team..Ice

are you smoking something???????????????? He has the most assists on the team and when he starts scoring, ice seems to stop passing to him! he dribbled it down the field and crossed it like 30 times in one half tonight! I saw the game and he is not the selfish one..trust me. If the team dint have him, how would they get the ball to the other side of the field...it would be impossible!!!! I will be completely honest with you and state that CR's game consists of long ball after long ball. So what do they do??? they give him FLAG BALLS which he crosses over to the center.

Ya, he's definatley not selfish fouledout. He runs the offensive production very well. And i Have to admit, he crosses the ball alot. His other forward though is very not
good so he never puts it in. ha

Alright so even though we don't all agree on some of the players mentioned, we all agree that POY will be mostly chosen from one of these players:(in alphabetical order) Clum, Gill, Ice, Keller, Sewell, and Troph. The season is only half way over there is a lot to go. We dont need to be bashing players, they are all good, love the sport, and are good kids. Plus unless your an NCOSA coach, you are not going to get to decide which one gets the honor...Good luck to all NCOSA players on the second half of your season!

Clum has been out several games this year and nursing a bum leg. I believe he is close to being Ada's all time assist leader 50ish and will be second in career goals behind the fetter kid. Not too shabby.

The way the season has been going, it will be very interesting to see who the coaches pick for POY. I think it will be between Gill, Clum, Ice, and Sewell. Good luck to to all!

Gil is the most complete soccer player in the NCOSA. I know how the NCOSA works... stats, but there is more to soccer than scoring goals. the easiest way to figure it out is to decide is if you were making a complete team from the NCOSA, is who would be your first choice. And it should not be bc you have a biased oppion. In the end Gil can and has played everywhere on the field, except goalie. Who on these other teams can you say that about?

I agree with what you say blues4life. I have seen Gil play and he is a tremendous player. He is the most unselfish player I have ever seen. He is truly a dedicated player to his team. His position at Mid - he plays very well. I've seen him play defense and he does that very well too. We all know he can score. He can play the field at any position. His ball skill is excellent. He is one player I enjoy watching play. If I was a college soccer coach I sure would try and recruit him. He is the kind of soccer player that I would want on my team. College soccer coaches.... take notice!!

coffee.gif The league is about done and tournaments are coming around the corner. I believe tournaments might help clear our minds on who deserves the title of POY more. Who will perform when it counts and who can lead their teams better.

Ive seen clum all over too...

I definitely think Clum or Gil...

Clum: the goal scorer, assists, team leader

Gil: assists, brings the team together, amazing with the ball at his feet

I believe that Clum is the better player and should be the Top NCOSA player

When we played ada he was very controlling and very aware of the game even when he was hurt.

So what you're saying is from you hearing him on the sideline would determine if he's POY?

That sounds like a very good prognosis to me.
